See you in 2008....

I made Muruku

Well X’mas is around the corer and since I have so much time to spare, I helped my mum make some cookies. We made muruku, achi muruku/rose muruku and also suji biscuit. It really felt like being a kid all over again. Me helping mum in the kitchen, does that bring back memories. I had my hand for the 1st time making muruku and damm was it tough, I just ended up making a mess. Out of 5 tries I only made one good muruku. I just wanted to be like the male guys cooking and baking at AFC.

I'd love to invite you guys over to my place but I cant as my pad is yet to be ready (end of 2008, fingers cross) and I'll be in Klang on the 25th and 26th. So if your down maybe we could meet. I hear they have a new mall that has finally brought up the living standards of Klang people. Klang finally has a Dome and for the ladies a MNG. Hope this will lessen the traffic of Klang people coming to Midvalley.

I'm Back

It’s been a long time since I’ve not blogged, close to 3 months I guess. Well there is couple of valid reasons and those close to me know what has happen and the reason to my hiatus. To sum it all, karma has come back full circle. All the bad things I did in my life has come and bit me in the arse. I know what I did bad and now I’m paying for it.

I didn’t take this incident in my life as a pitfall but I instead reassessed my life and how I was running it. Funny, at times I was gasping to make it in the world I was in. Leaving it all behind I can see now how much baggage I was carrying and what I could do without. I strongly believe GOD has a plan for me and I intend to include him in my life more. You might guess that this isn’t Mark, but thanks to close friends like Marcia and Mum they kind of made me realize how one needs ‘his’ help.

Being away from what I was used too and my daily routines I was strangely overcome with peace and calmness. A feeling that I have never felt before… not for a very long time anyway. I’ve take the time off to start of a small side business with 2 of my ex-colleagues. Its called Plan A Date, We are party/dating planners, no event is too small. Dont know how to surprise your love one anymore, or just got a big party u cant handle. Give me a call and let me worry about the details. We are a professional bunch just go to the site for more info.

Anyway this year X’mas will be small and I think I have a lot to be grateful for but it will be a simple one. I’ll leave now, but I promise I’ll be back with more ranting and just for your info I didn’t join Hindraf… hehehehe

The Black Donnellys

I am like any other man, I love good mob pic, The Godfather, Goodfellas, Sapranos, etc. My latest craze is The Black Donnelys. You cant catch it on Astro Star Movies every Sunday at 10pm or you could be impatient like me and watch the whole season at the link below
This serial is scripted very nicely, there is a saying 'We make our own choices' but what leads us to our choices?

Well about the show, let me summarize it for you, the series follows four young Catholic Irish-American brothers in Hell's Kitchen and their involvement with organized crime. Although the show is set in the present day, it draws heavily upon Irish-American history and iconic themes. The pilot episode illustrates a clear tension and rivalry between the Irish and the Italians. The episodes are narrated by a childhood friend, Joey "Ice Cream", whom the show depicts as an unreliable narrator.

The Black Donnellys was created by Paul Haggis and Robert Moresco. Cast members include Jonathan Tucker, Olivia Wilde (HOTTIE, god love her eyes), Billy Lush, Tom Guiry and Kirk Acevedo with relative newcomers Michael Stahl-David and Keith Nobbs. The only thing that I'm sad is that the show got cancelled after one season. What a waste.

Future of our Kids

I may never get married and have kids. I thought that was a bad thing but lately after seeing the loss of 2 high profile kids cases. Me not having kids seem not a bad idea. Times are bad now (boy dont i sound like an old man). Its no longer the days we grew up in. How many of you when u were a kid, your mum sent you to the shop or market to get something? You might have hated it or loved it but thats not going to happen to your kids.

I got a mail recently, a parent lost their kid in a hypermart and after a lock down they found her naked, druged and shaved. I guess the only solution fo this is you dont bring they out or we have them on a leash. I remember my brother being in one. It was a parental snap to the arm. We used to be able to say, 'Oh that area bad lah" that remark has no merit now, these crimes happens anywhere.

Do you think Malaysia should set up its own S.V.U now with these cases on rise?

Quak Quak Lost Phone

I recently lost all of my contacts and personal data in my hand phone. It was my fault, I was itching to upgrade my software myself and I did it wrongly. The outcome was I had to go to Nokia to get the phone re-formatted. I lost all of my contacts, Bdays reminders and personal information. I apologize in advance for my stupidity for losing your number and forgetting to call u on your occasion. I’ll have to gather your info when I meet you yeah….

With the ‘losing’ of my phone I realised how dependent I was to this mobile phone. It was my gateway to my brain. My brain obviously doesn’t remember Bdays and numbers any more. Back when I was in High School, I could remember telephone numbers and do math problems in my head. After that I had the hand phones to remind me of numbers and birthdays and all my details. My brain didn’t need to work that much anymore just gets some good ideas for work and to soak in all the cartoons, movies and dramas it could. It was much better then studying.

I was paralysed when I left my phone for 3 days at Nokia. No one could contact me. I felt insecure, like something was missing. I am technologically driven, I check everything online and I love the concept of greeting everything at my finger tips. My phone could Call, SMS (whose cant duh), browse the Internet, was a radio to my favourite station as well had my once of play list. Those 3 days without my phone I was paralysed, I couldn’t do all that and I felt less equipped.

How would you survive without your phone for 3 days?

Miss Malaysia The Traitor or ...?

I’m not to sure if you recently caught the Uniquely Singapore advert. The lady above is the new spokesperson for their tourism campaign. Emeline Ng Vei Shu, winner of Miss Malaysia 2005 was born in Singapore and brought up in Malaysia and Australia. You would think she would have an annoying foreign accent but in the advert she hardly could speak fluently.

Anyways what is Miss Malaysia doing helping the Singaporeans? I find this an insult to the nation. It’s like the French aiding the Germans…. unthinkable. I also surprised why no one has made a fuss about this. Am I over reacting? I shared this information with my colleagues and the 1st thing that came out of their mouth is TRAITOR. But hey, lets put ourselves in her shoes, be very honest now, if you were a somebody and Singapore paid you a hefty amount would you take it?

We love, hate our country but would you do it?

Msia 50 years old

This week Peninsular Malaysia will celebrate the 50th Independence day, where else Sabah & Sarawak will be celebrating the 44th Independence day. I can go about shouting what we lack and all the negative stuff but what I am grateful for in Malaysia is

1. Being a ‘foodie’ I love Malaysia for having so many kind of foods. I dare say my mum doesn’t cook Indian cuisine at home. She cooks a mixture of Indian, Malay and Chinese. I can get whatever my taste pallets desire.

2. I love culture, I love to get to know the does and don’t, what they believe, etc. I noticed some people just like to stick with one race because of fear of language (they don’t speak well).

3. I love it that we are throwing down racial and religion barriers and we are dating other races. The goal is the get so mixed the government cant segregate us no more…Hehehe

4. When I go abroad on MAS and the Pilot says “… to all Malaysian, Welcome Home’

5. I’m also grateful on the education that we have received, it isn’t ideal but it’s the best that we can get.

What are you grateful for?

Power to the Press No more

Is it just me or are we just paying too much attention on the Dude who made a mockery of the national anthem. How many of you, growing up had your own version of the national anthem? I also can’t understand why the government can’t decide on their decision. Are you going to punish him or not? Someone needs to stand firm, they way I see it, the government is being like a lady who can’t make up their mind. Should the guy be punished? Hell yes! He was so stupid to be video taped.

I think there are more pressing matters that we should be concentrating, for example marginalization of the non-muslim community, finding out who is in charge of creating guidelines for busses, etc. Our media lacks the passion to uncover the truth or to push the government for answers. I’ve heard some of the community say that all of the Media is run by the government thus there is not much of press power to exercise. What worries me is most of us are like cattle being feed what they think we need to know…..
It all boils down to our daily attitude, we actually dont really care about what our government does, or what rights are being revoked. Saying I cant do anythin about it is no longer an option. We celbrate the 50th year of independence but there are still walls where most of us cant break through....

Holiday Trips.....

Is it just me or is our neighbor Singapore being inconsiderate. The only time we have visit Malaysia they launch their own tourism campaign. What I actually find insulting is, they have special promo’s for Malaysian who go visiting Singapore. As Malaysian we should be visiting our national treasure. Talking about national treasure an old friend informed me of a nice place to relax. If all goes as plan I would love to go to Bubu resort at Pulau Perhentian next year. Just sit in and take in the sun.

http://www.buburesort.com.my/

I guess this year I was bless to go to Xiamen on a free ticket including accomodations. Would i go again, probalbly not but I can definately scratch it off my list. I plan for a short ttip this October to our neighbouring country (NOT SINGAPORE). I like to go places where our currency rate is bigger, makes me feel rich for a while. I hear rumours that my company trip this year will be Bangkok, hope to god it is.... need to start collecting my one ringgit bills... hehehehe

Something I got in the mail...

One day a man saw anold lady, stranded on the side of the road, but even inthe dim light of day, he could see she needed help. So he pulled up in front of her Mercedes and got out. His Pontiac was still sputtering when he approached her.Even with the smile on his face, she was worried. No one had stopped to help for the last hour or so. Was he going to hurt her? He didn't look safe; he looked poor and hungry. He could see that she was frightened, standing out there in the cold. He knew how she felt. It was those chills which only fear can put in you.

He said, "I'm here to help you, ma'am. Why don't you wait in the car where it's warm? By the way, my name is Bryan Anderson."Well, all she had was a flat tire, but for an old lady, that was bad enough. Bryan crawled under the car looking for a place to put the jack, skinning his knuckles a time or two. Soon he was able to change the tire. But he had to get dirty and his hands hurt.As he was tightening up the lug nuts, she rolled down the window and beganto talk to him. She told him that she was from St. Louis and was only justpassing through. She couldn't thank him enough for coming to her aid.

Bryanjust smiled as he closed her trunk. The lady asked how much she owedhim. Any amount would have been all right with her. She already imaginedall the awful things that could have happened had he not stopped.Bryan never thought twice about being paid. This was not a job to him. This was helping someone in need, and God knows there were plenty, who hadgiven him a hand in the past. He had lived his whole life that way, and it neveroccurred to him to act any other way.

He told her that if she really wanted to pay him back, the next time she saw someone who needed help, she could give that person the assistance theyneeded, and Bryan added, "And think of me."He waited until she started her car and drove off. It had been a cold anddepressing day, but he felt good as he headed for home, disappearinginto the twilight.A few miles down the road the lady saw a small cafe. She went in to grab abite to eat, and take the chill off before she made the last leg of her trip home.

It was a dingy looking restaurant. Outside were two old gas pumps. The whole scene was unfamiliar to her. The waitress came over and brought a clean towel to wipe her wet hair. She had a sweet smile, one that even being on her feet for the whole day couldn't erase. The lady noticed the waitress was nearly eight months pregnant, but she never let the strain and aches change her attitude. The old lady wondered how someone who had so little could be so giving to a stranger. Then she remembered Bryan.

After the lady finished her meal, she paid with a hundred dollar bill. The waitress quickly went to get change for her hundred dollar bill, but the old lady had slipped right out the door. She was gone by the time the waitress came back. The waitress wondered where the lady could be. Then she noticed something written on the napkin. There were tears in her eyes when she read what the lady wrote: "You don'towe me anything. I have been there too. Somebody once helped me out,the way I'm helping you. If you really want to pay me back, here is what youdo: Do not let this chain of love end with you.

" Under the napkin were four more $100 bills. Well, there were tables to clear, sugar bowls to fill, and people to serve, but the waitress made it through another day. That night when she got home from work and climbed into bed, she was thinking about the money and what the lady had written. How could the lady have known how much she and her husband needed it? With the baby due next month, it was going to be hard....She knew how worried her husband was, and as he lay sleeping next to her,she gave him a soft kiss and whispered soft and low, "Everything's going tobe all right. I love you, Bryan Anderson."There is an old saying "What goes around comes around." Today, I sent youthis story and I'm asking you to pass it on... Let this light shine.Don't delete it, don't keep it. Simply, pass this on to a friend.

RAT - PATAOOIIII

I got Ratatouille tickets yesterday courtesy of MY.fm. The movie was 50-50 to me. It didn’t have the impact of The Incredibles or the wit of Monsters Inc. In irony it lacks its own spice to the movie. As for the graphics, it was not a let down. The quality has been magnificent especially they way they captured the nights of Paris. What I really enjoyed is the short story titled Lifted. It’s a story of an amateur alien trying to get his license in abduction. You must catch it

Harry Potter Fest

Its been a long time since i blogged. So many things going on with work and personal life. I was one of nthe few that stood outside Kinokuniya at 3am to get my book. It was a fun day i must say but i threw my shouldre in the process which has not healed mind you. So I cant carry anything heavy.
Some people have ruined the ending for me and the either think themself cute or cheecky but i think they are down right annoying. I'll take my time to finish this as I would like to hang to every word that J.K.R writes. I think she is one of our greates writes of this time. Its not always we get to be apart of literature history.
I promise to post as soon as possible. When i have the time of course ;)

Away Too Long

It’s been quite sometime since I’ve blogged and the reason being that I’ve been too busy with 2 things, family and a secret project. I missed allot of the movie arena, I missed Shivaji, Transformers, Die Hard and now maybe Harry Potter. It’s good to be busy, keeps me occupied and hopefully lose that extra weight that I need to.

Couple weeks back was lil Christopher Robin’s baptism and we headed to Klang. Funny I think the baby changed when I last time I saw him. He’s much rounder, bigger eyes and the cutest smile that melts your stone heart (mine). Maybe having him around wouldn’t be as bad as I thought… hehehe.

Next week is Andrew confirmation and everyone will be down at Sentul. I got him a brand new tie to along with his brand new suit. Alex will also be down, he sounds like a changed man but then again its Alex you can’t expect much. The 3 of us are now adults, it feels a lil weird I knew I was never such a good role model but I do hope they did learn something from me… good I hope

Taking Care of Yourself

A chat with Dr.Devi Shetty, Narayana Hrudayalaya (Heart Specialist) Bangalore was arranged.
The transcript of the Questions & Answers is given below. Useful for everyone.

Qn: What are the thumb rules for a layman to take care of his heart ?

Ans:
1. Diet - Less of carbohydrate, more of protein, less oil
2. Exercise - Half an hour's walk, at least five days a week; avoid lifts and avoid sitting for a longtime
3. Quit smoking
4. Control weight
5. Control blood pressure and sugar

Qn: Is eating non-veg food (fish) good for the heart?

Ans: No

Qn: It's still a grave shock to hear that some apparently healthy person
gets a cardiac arrest. How do we understand it in perspective?

Ans: This is called silent attack; that is why we recommend everyone past the age of 30 to undergo routine health checkups.

Qn: Are heart diseases hereditary?

Ans: Yes

Qn: What are the ways in which the heart is stressed? What practices do you suggest to de-stress?

Ans: Change your attitude towards life. Do not look for perfection in everything in life.

Qn: Is walking better than jogging or is more intensive exercise required to keep a healthy heart?

Ans: Walking is better than jogging since jogging leads to early fatigue and injury to joints .

Qn: Can people with low blood pressure suffer heart diseases?

Ans: Extremely rare

Qn: Does cholesterol accumulates right from an early age
(I'm currently only 22) or do you have to worry about it only after you are above 30 years of age?

Ans: Cholesterol accumulates from childhood.

Qn: How do irregular eating habits affect the heart ?

Ans: You tend to eat junk food when the habits are irregular and your body's enzyme release for digestion gets confused.

Qn: How can I control cholesterol content without using medicines?

Ans: Control diet, walk and eat walnut.

Qn: Can yoga prevent heart ailments?

Ans: Yoga helps.

Qn: Which is the best and worst food for the heart?

Ans: Fruits and vegetables are the best and the worst is oil.

Qn: Which oil is better - groundnut, sunflower, olive?

Ans: All oils are bad .

Qn: What is the routine checkup one should go through? Is there any specific test?

Ans: Routine blood test to ensure sugar, cholesterol is ok. Check BP, Treadmill test after an echo.

Qn: What are the first aid steps to be taken on a heart attack?

Ans: Help the person into a sleeping position , place an aspirin tablet under the tongue with a sorbitrate tablet if available, and rush him to a coronary care unit since the maximum casualty takes place within the first hour.

Qn: How do you differentiate between pain caused by a heart attack and that caused due to gastric trouble?

Ans: Extremely difficult without ECG.

Qn: What is the main cause of a steep increase in heart problems amongst youngsters? I see people of about 30-40 yrs of age having heart attacks and serious heart problems.

Ans: Increased awareness has increased incidents. Also, edentary lifestyles, smoking, junk food, lack of exercise in a country where people are genetically three times more vulnerable for heart attacks than Europeans and Americans.

Qn: Is it possible for a person to have BP outside the normal range of 120/80 and yet be perfectly healthy?

Ans: Yes.

Qn: Marriages within close relatives can lead to heart problems for the child. Is it true?

Ans : Yes, co-sanguinity leads to congenital abnormalities and you may not have a software engineer as a child.

Qn: Many of us have an irregular daily routine and many a times we have to stay late nights in office. Does this affect our heart ? What precautions would you recommend?

Ans : When you are young, nature protects you against all these irregularities. However, as you grow older, respect the biological clock.

Qn: Will taking anti-hypertensive drugs cause some other complications (short / long term)?

Ans : Yes, most drugs have some side effects. However, modern anti-hypertensive drugs are extremely safe.

Qn: Will consuming more coffee/tea lead to heart attacks?

Ans : No.

Qn: Are asthma patients more prone to heart disease?

Ans : No.

Qn: How would you define junk food?

Ans : Fried food like Kentucky , McDonalds , samosas, and even masala dosas.

Qn: You mentioned that Indians are three times more vulnerable. What is the reason for this, as Europeans and Americans also eat a lot of junk food?

Ans: Every race is vulnerable to some disease and unfortunately, Indians are vulnerable for the most expensive disease.

Qn: Does consuming bananas help reduce hypertension?

Ans : No.

Qn: Can a person help himself during a heart attack (Because we see a lot of forwarded emails on this)?

Ans : Yes. Lie down comfortably and put an aspirin tablet of any description under the tongue and ask someone to take you to the nearest coronary care unit without any delay and do not wait for the ambulance since most of the time, the ambulance does not turn up.

Qn: Do, in any way, low white blood cells and low hemoglobin count lead to heart problems?

Ans : No. But it is ideal to have normal hemoglobin level to increase your exercise capacity.

Qn: Sometimes, due to the hectic schedule we are not able to exercise. So, does walking while doing daily chores at home or climbing the stairs in the house, work as a substitute for exercise?

Ans : Certainly. Avoid sitting continuously for more than half an hour and even the act of getting out of the chair and going to another chair and sitting helps a lot.

Qn: Is there a relation between heart problems and blood sugar?

Ans: Yes. A strong relationship since diabetics are more vulnerable to heart attacks than non-diabetics.

Qn: What are the things one needs to take care of after a heart operation?

Ans : Diet, exercise, drugs on time , Control cholesterol, BP, weight.

Qn: Are people working on night shifts more vulnerable to heart disease when compared to day shift workers?

Ans : No.

Qn: What are the modern anti-hypertensive drugs?

Ans : There are hundreds of drugs and your doctor will chose the right combination for your problem, but my suggestion is to avoid the drugs and go for natural ways of controlling blood pressure by walk, diet to
reduce weight and changing attitudes towards lifestyles.

Qn: Does dispirin or similar headache pills increase the risk of heart attacks?

Ans : No.

Qn: Why is the rate of heart attacks more in men than in women?

Ans : Nature protects women till the age of 45.

Qn: How can one keep the heart in a good condition?

Ans : Eat a healthy diet, avoid junk food, exercise everyday, do not smoke and, go for health checkup s if you are past the age of 30 ( once in six months recommended) ...

Lonesome Soldiers Heart

Its been a long time since i wrote any poem. This is something dark and deep.

It feels like a tired journey,
I’ve forgotten neither the beginning
nor where I am heading
Souls I’ve meet and I’ve united with…

What used to be sparks of light
Now a flicker of hope stands
All is lost to greed & lust
A soldier stands in the eclipse of the sun

The soldier takes on his journey
Like a wilted flower
The soldier waits to die
Or some little act of kindness

The soldier carries
Till his path meets the angel or death itself
Alone in this word he roams…
A lonesome soldier heart

Something to Ponder

Take a minutes break and read this, think about it:

A group of children were playing near two railway tracks, one still in use while the other disused.
Only one child played on the disused track, the rest on the operational track.
The train came, and you were just beside the track interchange.
You could make the train change its course to the disused track and saved most of the kids.

However, that would also mean the lone child playing by the disused track would be sacrificed.

Or would you rather let the train go its way?
Let's take a pause to think what kind of decision we could make........ .....

How did you decide?

What was your decision?

Most people might choose to divert the course of the train, and sacrifice only one child.
You might think the same way, I guess.

Exactly,
I thought the same way initially because to save most of the children at the expense of only one child was rational decision most people would make, morally and emotionally.
But, have you ever thought that the child choosing to play on the disused track had in fact made the right decision to play at a safe place?
Nevertheless, he had to be sacrificed because of his ignorant friends who chose to play where the danger was.

This kind of dilemma happens around us everyday.
In the office, community, in politics and especially in a democratic society, the minority is often sacrificed for the interest of the majority, no matter how foolish or ignorant the majority is, and how farsighted and knowledgeable the minority is.
The child who chose not to play with the rest on the operational track was sidelined.
And in the case he was sacrificed, no one would shed a tear for him.

The friend who forwarded me the story said he would not try to change the course of the train because he believed that the kids playing on the operational track
should have known very well that track was still in use and that they should have run away if they heard the train's sirens.
If the train was diverted, that lone child would definitely die because he never thought the train could come over to that track!

Moreover, that track was not in use probably was not safe. If the train was diverted to the track, we could put the lives of all passengers on board at stake!
And in your attempt to save a few kids by sacrificing one child, you might end up sacrificing hundreds of people to save these few kids.

While we are all aware that life is full of tough decisions that need to be made, we may not realize that hasty decisions may not always be the right one.

"Remember that what's right isn't always popular...
and what's popular isn't always right."

Difference Between Girl & Woman

Girls leave their schedule wide-open and wait for a guy to call and make plans.
Grown women make their own plans and nicely tell the guy to get in where he fits

Girls want to control the man in their life.
Grown women know that if he's truly hers, he doesn't need controlling.

Girls check you for not calling them.
Grown women are too busy to realize you hadn't.

Girls are afraid to be alone.
Grown women revel in it-using it as a time for personal growth.

Girls ignore the good guys.
Grown women ignore the bad guys.

Girls make you come home.
Grown women make you want to come home.

Girls worry about not being pretty and/or good enough for their man.
Grown women know that they are pretty and/or good enough for any man.

Girls try to monopolize all their man's time ( I.e., don't want him hanging with his friends).
Grown women realize that a lil' bit of space makes the 'together time' even more special-and goes to kick it with her own friends!

Girls think a guy crying is weak. Grown women offer their shoulder and a tissue.
Girls want to be spoiled and 'tell' their man so.

Grown women 'show' him and make him comfortable enough to reciprocate without fear of losing his 'manhood'.
Girls get hurt by one man and make all men pay for it.

Grown women know that that was just one man. Girls fall in love and chase aimlessly after the object of their affection, ignoring all 'signs'.
Grown women know that sometimes the one you love, don't always love you back-and move on, without bitterness.

Diary: Serendah Falls

The picture above was taken in Serendah waterfalls on the 19th of May. My entire department headed by Khalil as our guide took an hour journey to get to the place. I must say it was an exciting adventure there as we had to hike 1km before reaching the falls. When we reached there we set up camp. We had canvas as mats and we all chipped in for food. There was plenty of food that we brought. nasi lemak, fried mee hoon, sandwiches and fried stuff like nuggets and chicken balls.

At the first spot there was a nature made Jacuzzi, which was excellent for the body. The guys got adventures and we started to find better spots down the fill. We found and excellent spot where the water was deep enough for one to do cannon balls. We also found another spot where the waterfalls were so strong that if u hit your back it gave u a good massage. All in all it was an exciting trip…

Diary: Rambling Mind

I'm tired.... not at life but at work. I find myself surrounded by negative thoughts. I just want to quit work, period. I wish I had enough financial security to leave my job and do nothing. I always saw my life as a battle from one problem to another. I've never gotten anything easy and I had to fight for what I have. Lately I've been tired of fighting. What am I fighting for u ask. At work I fight to protect my department people from being abused. I've got 15 staff its a hard job. I fight to ensure my brothers are emotionally balanced. Somebody needs to put Alex in check, being so old he so sensitive, Andrew in the other hand is a brick wall you cant really tell what’s he thinking or feeling. I think its the age gap all I know about him is he only loves food too much. On my personal life I'm tired of my current lifestyle, I need some kind off change.. good god please do intervene.

At the office, it’s quite tensed as we need to hit or last quarters target. The office environment is quite tensed, everybody bouncing off his or her tension at each other. I couldn’t take anymore of it and skipped work on Friday. Lenny called me, as he wanted company to fix his car sound system, in short he was pimping out his sound system at Gombak. After doing his sound system we headed to play a couple round of pool to know who was a better player unfortunately it was a draw thus we told each other we would rematch each other soon. After pool we had dinner with Logen and Jaya near Pj State at a Chinese restaurant. So-so food but it was the company that I enjoyed. I reached home at about 12, I didn’t want to sleep so I watch F.R.I.E.N.D.S. season 10 on DVD. I've been putting that on hold. I didn’t want the illusion of the show to be over. I grew up with the show, I kind of related to the show. So I watched the entire season 10 till 4 am with couple of tears tearing down my face.

Sunday was Mothers Day and mum wanted to have Nasi Kandar, the only place I knew was Pelita. So we had lunch at Bangsar Pelita and later on headed to TMC to get some supplies for Alex when my parents go this Thursday to Jogjakarta. I really do hope they have fun. I on the other hand am looking forward to Serendah Waterfalls this Saturday. Will take pictures of it and I'll post it at the blog when I can yeah....

Lately there has only one thing is my mind, what it is you ask? POC = Pirates of the Caribbean. It came to me one day, what would my next tattoo. I closed my eyes and it popped in my head the picture in black and white a portrait of Captain Jack Sparrow. This has gotten so bad that I’m only listening to the soundtrack of POC. Must say it makes work much more bearable……

3 Musketeer’s back again?

Last Friday I meet up with Melman and Yogi for dinner at Chillis and I must say I missed those guys. It was so like back in the day, talking trash and laughing our heads off. Melman was a lil under the weather but his humour was intact. Yogi and me had to keep a lid on his surprise birthday party on Saturday. So we pretended that we were celebrating it on Friday… just the guys. To make sure he bought our story I got a pack of condoms and chocolates. What was better was we got Chillis to sing to him Happy Birthday on his free dessert. Funny thing was they don’t check your IC they just accept it at face value.

After dinner we headed to Thai club to see Nick; we did a lil drinking, This part of the night was really my cup of tea. But luckily I was busy sms-ing an old friend throughout the night. I reached home at 4 in the morning. I only could get 4 hours sleep, as I had to get up at 8 in the morning to meet a client.

My meeting with the client had turned sour and I was such in a foul mood. My boss was not that happy with what had happen. I just wanted to punch something, it was around lunch hour and I wanted to be with someone to lash my feelings out. I called Yogi and he told me to come over, we would pick Nick and then have lunch at some place. But my bad luck kind of ran and there seemed to be a massive jam throughout Cheras. We sat in the car for 2 hours thus lunch was off the agenda… I thought that would be fine since I’ll be in TGIF gobbling my food. Hmmmm a good steak would be nice.

We were supposed to be at TGIF by 8 but due to some ‘technical’ problems we had to push the meeting an hour behind. We had to be there 7 – 7.30. Yoges and I rushed to TGIF. We were of course the 1st to arrive. Melman was again shocked to see us all there celebrating his birthday. Food was pre-ordered so I didn’t get to have my steak. We had pasta, triple play, fajitas, some fried chicken and a nice ice-cream cake to was it all down.
After dinner we headed to Matrix to play some pool…

On Sunday… I didn’t get up till 5 in the evening nothing much happened besides a long talk with Alex. Glad to know he is doing fine. Mum and Dad will be going abroad next week to see him.

Diary: Promises

Along my life I’ve made some promises with my friends. In high school the bunch of us promised we would go to London, I went alone. Then sometime later I made a pact with my friend to do a tattoo, I went alone. I’m starting to think that all the promises I made mean nothing. But its still means something to me that’s why I still do it irregardless the other party holds his promise or not, all to its own….

I was supposed to go visit my brother this year but I think I’m postponing that to next year. Fingers crossed, next year I get to go to Bali to conquer another fear (bungee jumping) then go see my brother in Jogakarta. Hope Mother Nature won’t be so pissed off when I plan to visit Indonesia. Mum and Dad are planning to go visit Alex in May, just before Aunt Ire comes down. Alex has been acting funny so mum wants to see what’s happening to the boy.

I’ll be away on a long leave, nope not going anywhere. I just need to clear my leave so I’m on leave on the 26 April – 2nd May. The only thing I’m looking forward in this is to catch Spider-Man 3 and TMNT. So if want to meet up give a call… I’m glad to hang out with ya.

Inner thoughts

We all have on going problems that wish could just leave us once and for all. Could be finance could be personal. Whatever it is, if you remove that problem out of the equation you believe you would be much happier or even a better person…. These are things I could do to make me much happier in my current life

RM 6000
The Gym
A Love Life

Have you given thought to the things that you could do to make you life much happy in a realistic vision? Think about it

Last week on the 11th of April, Annie gave birth to another Aries Men. So now lil Michael has a lil brother to play or beat up with. The kid is cute isn’t he? Annie and Gerald gave Michael to choose the babies name. So for a 4 year old kid his naming choices is quite limited. Some of the choices were Bob The Builder, Winnie The Pooh, Martin Mystery, B1 or B2 (from Banana’s in Pajamas) but I think they have settled for Christopher Robin. Anyways that’s another name I got to add in my X’mas list. And makes me feel much older… sigh.

I’m actually quite happy to have another nephew to play with. These are actually the most adorable time of their life till they turn out to be brats…. hehehehe. Anyway looks like I’ll have to share my birthday with this chappy now.

Last Saturday the content team organized a paintball game. It was the 1st for most of us. We re really excited. We were told it would hurt and it did so. Luckily I was smart enough two clothes. By the way I'm the midle guy in the pic... the fatness should give it away. I got loads to show but i cant cause not really know how to do it. So pass me ur email and i'll send it to you over photo share.

My Tattoo

Whats this ugly thing you ask? Well its a picture of a dragon.
Why dragon? Always found the mystic dragon fasinating. The meaning of it. The History behind it
Did it hurt? Like hell it did
How does it feel? Well I feel proud to conquere another fear. Now i'm in the 'pantang' stage. So no seafood for about 2 weeks. Its also the itch stage so no scratching. They've given me medication for 2 weeks for it to heal. Next year hopefully will be bungy jumping. Hope I have the balls for that.
What did mum say? Surprisingly mum was very cool about it. She was more worried how I'm taking care of it.
Will I do another 1? Most definately. Planning to do a Man Utd crest on my chest. Lets see how it goes 1st

Diary: Palm Sunday

It was Palm Sunday last Sunday it the mark’s of the entrance of the Holy Week. I plan to be vegetarian for the entire week and to be as good as possible (Fingers Crossed). I love Palm Sunday after Christmas of course. One being that you get to play with palms and make it in nice decorative items. I was taught how to do the cross but I noticed tat the Philippino community goes the extra mile by making it as symbolic as possible by putting ribbons to the palms, etc. The other bit I like about Palm Sunday is that you get to act out the Passion of Christ. My favourite part is of course shouting ‘Crucify Him’. You got to be ignorant to enjoy that.

This Sunday I was really feeling under the weather, my sinus kicked in and I was sneezing badly. I was surprised that a Nigerian Priest kept the mass on a 10 visit to Malaysia. Apparently he was from the Somalia region, which my brain automatically said, “Isn’t he a lil too fat to be a Somalian?” Then my mind started to play scenarios from the movie Blood Diamond. Anyway I wasn’t up to stay to the end of mass and my sinus was really acting up. I needed something hot fast. I left after communion and headed to KLCC to pay my bills and I noticed that I’m broke and I’ve got to watch my spending.

But since it was the beginning of the month you should treat yourself, I was also lucky as my SFC card was fully stamped so I could redeem a large cuppa of Caramel Cappuccino. I had the craving for a sandwich and since I’m watching what I eat, I had a smoked sandwich with cheese on a croissant… oh delicioso. My recommendation to those who wants to try fish on bread. After a hearty breakfast I headed to Isetan to get my mum a name cardholder but there was nothing that nice so I headed to Kinokuniya. To my surprise they were taking in pre-orders of the Harry Potter final book. There is a RM50 deposit for it but you get 25% off the book. So all Book lovers please come down to Kino to get your books. This time I’m going for the launch….

Diary: My Coming Birthday

My birthday is coming up and my friends are planning my birthday party. To be honest I do not want to celebrate my birthday this year. Why you ask? Well one I feel so old, two I don’t have anything to celebrate about. Nope there is nothing great reaching 27. I’ve always celebrated my birthday based on my personal achievements on the past year. You could say it’s a time where I appraise myself. I check and see if I’ve reached my targets and how off I am. Last year I threw a nice party cause I managed to do all of my goals that I set. This time around I failed miserably.

Looking at my friends and what they have accomplished over the years and where they stand at my age I think I fall very short. Thus the reason why I’m down and not wanting to celebrate my birthday. Marina asked me a sensitive question for my birthday, she asked. “Mark your 27, when are you getting married? ” Like others I think I’ve been shoved into the line of expectancy of getting married. I knew that woman face some kind of pressure when their biological clock begins to do its countdown. Well I feel something just like that. Its like the society has given me a countdown to find my next bride.

Hmm.. They should make a reality TV on this. Who wants to see handsome women and men get hitched. Where is the X factor? What be great is to have a fat guy (me) on a show and weekly put him against nice young women and see how it goes. I bet you there be crowd watching it. (Crowd of disgust and curiosity, of course)

Back to real life, my department have been gearing up for my birthday and I cant weasel my way through. I’m surprised and flattered actually. I’ve been told to keep April 11 free after work to celebrate my party. My new staff Khalil who wants to take revenge on me for posting some ragging videos on ‘you tube’ and spreading it out to everyone. I believe it’s a diabolical one. All I’ve be warned is bring extra shirts and I’ll adhere to that. Nevertheless, as an Indian I’ll just say BRING IT ON! ! !

Diary: Just a Short One

My birthday is couple of weeks away and its nice to hear most of my friends planning for my birthday. This year I really don’t want to celebrate my birthday. 27, nothing really to shout about. I’ve always celebrated my birthday based on my accomplishment but this time around I don’t really think I accomplished anything. I want to mellow in my sorrow. I know you shouting drama queen. Nevertheless that’s what I want to do. Have a quiet birthday all by myself. I’ve taken a couple of days off so that no one can reach me.

I’ll be going for Kanye West Concert on the 8th April. That’s my birthday gift to myself. Shari is planning to come along with me hope her new bf (wink, wink) lets her. Can wait for the concert. I’ve got a very full week planned on the 1st week of April. I’ve also got a paintball session that I really looking forward too. The only thing that I can close to being Rambo.

Joke: When girls don't put out...

This was written by a guy... it's pretty damn smart. Girls -- Have a sense of humour!
I never quite figured out why the sexual urge of men and women differ so much. And I never have figured out the whole Venus and Mars thing. I have never figured out why men think with their head and women with their heart.

FOR EXAMPLE:
One evening last week, my girlfriend and I were getting into bed. Well, the passion starts to heat up, and she eventually says, "I don't feel like it, I just want you to hold me." I said, "WHAT??!! What was that?!" So she says the words that every boyfriend on the planet dreads to hear... "You're just not in touch with my emotional needs as a woman enough for me to satisfy your physical needs as a man."

She responded to my puzzled look by saying, "Can't you just love me for who I am and not what I do for you in the bedroom? Realizing that nothing was going to happen that night, I went to sleep The very next day I opted to take the day off of work to spend time with her. We went out to a nice lunch and then went shopping at a big, big unnamed department store. I walked around with her while she tried on several different very expensive outfits. She couldn't decide which one to take, so I told her we'd just buy them all. She wanted new shoes to compliment her new clothes, so I said, "Lets get a pair for each outfit."

We went on to the jewellery department where she picked out a pair of diamond earrings. Let me tell you... she was so excited. She must have thought I was one wave short of a shipwreck. I started to think she was testing me because she asked for a tennis bracelet when she doesn't even know how to play tennis
I think I threw her for a loop when I said, "That's fine, honey." She was almost nearing sexual satisfaction from all of the excitement. Smiling with excited anticipation, she finally said, "I think this is all dear, let's go to the cashier." I could hardly contain myself when I blurted out, "No honey, I don't feel ike it." Her face just went completely blank as her jaw dropped with a baffled, "WHAT?" I then said, "Honey! I just want you to HOLD this stuff for a while. You're just not in touch with my financial needs as a man enough for me to satisfy your shopping needs as a woman." And just when she had this look like she was going to kill me, I added, "Why can't you just love me for who I am and not for the things I buy you?"

Apparently I'm not having sex tonight either....but at least that bitch knows I'm smarter than her.

Diamond in the Ruff

Whoever said, “Diamonds were girl’s best friend” was definitely being ignorant. I too am an ignorant fool I never knew how a diamond comes to the market. I have seen on Discovery channel how the legitimate diamonds are mined and how it reaches the market but after watching Blood Diamond and do a little research of my own I found out 4% of diamonds in the market come from the conflict zone. Hmm you might just say its only 4% what’s the big deal rite. Well if you were to put 4% on monetary values it would be more that USD100 million. Do you know how many guns and grenades you can buy from that much of money?

Watching the movie I knew that kids were used in warfare but I wasn’t aware on how they were took from villagers and brain washed. They were duped to take drugs where their commander’s claim there can withstand bullets and even dodge them. In Africa now there is an estimate of 250,000 and growing no of children soldiers marching on for rebellion parties like RUF.

I doubt the movie will create any dent in the diamond industry but to me I don’t think I would buy any diamonds for that special one or even for myself since it’s my lucky stone. I wont be surprised if our Malaysian market has most of the conflict stones but the largest consumers of diamonds are the Americans. They say when you buy a diamond please get a certificate of authenticity claiming the diamonds are from conflict free zones. You and I know how easy it is to forge one of these certificates. If Malaysia has one of the top-notch security in our bills and still people finds ways to print counterfeit copies of our money what is a measly ol’ certificate.

To the ladies that I love and adore do you really need a diamond to get married or to be spoiled? There are other stones in the market … Feedback please

MUSINGS BY MARINA MAHATHIR

A FRIEND of mine told me an alarming statistic the other day. According to the 9th Malaysia Plan, about two-thirds of Malaysian graduates would not be able to find graduate-level employment. That means that of the more than 60,000 graduates at all levels each year, about 40,000 will not be able to get a job commensurating with their qualifications. It’s not that we haven’t been educating people. According to the Ministry of Higher Education website, the numbers of young people going into public institutions of higher learning between 2000 and 2005 have been steadily increasing, from 54,495 to 80,885.
Funnily enough, in private institutions of higher learning, which generally take in more students than the public institutions, the numbers have been decreasing, from 178,899 to 113,105, over the same period of time. My guess is that many have not been able to afford the private universities and had to go to the public ones. But maybe what’s more revealing is the number of people who actually graduate from university. Most public university students do graduate. In 2005, there were 79,934 graduates, or 98% of the intake. On the other hand, far fewer students graduate from the private universities, only 57,953 or 51% of the intake. Which may say something about the varying standards in the public and private universities.

Even more interesting for me is the level that students graduate from. Most university graduates are content with getting a first degree, with very few going on to further degrees. Which might be an indication of the need to find a job quickly. But then, that first degree itself has not made them employable. There have been several thorough analyses why our graduates cannot find jobs. Most do not have the skills for the workplace, including communication skills. I have never had to interview many people for jobs but those who do all attest to this inability of candidates to express themselves.

I do meet many young people studying in local universities who are bright, fluent in English and happy to express their views. But what is obvious is that they are brought up in urban areas and have access to resources that help their confidence. Yet as a government survey two years ago stated, most of the unemployed are Malays from lower-income families who lack command of the English language. Undoubtedly they also come from rural areas. In many countries around our region, graduates who cannot find employment at home are able to go abroad to seek their fortunes. Not all will be employed to their level of learning, such as Filipina graduates who work as domestic help overseas, but the reason that they can go abroad at all is because they speak English.

Our graduates will not have that option because of poor language skills. I also doubt if ours would be willing to work as domestic help overseas just to earn money. So much of exportable skills these days require language fluency. India has managed to tap into the call-centre business because of the availability of English speakers. So well-trained are they that in the US you can speak to someone and not realise that that person is actually in Bangalore. Here I get calls from telemarketing people who are not only unable to speak English, but also cannot even speak beyond a script once you ask difficult questions. We need to worry about these unemployable graduates because we cannot have bored and frustrated people milling about, because many social problems stem from unemployment.
Some might think that because most of our graduates are women, this is not a big problem because eventually they will get married. But we don’t build our universities just to have lots of housewives, nor, for that matter, fast food order-takers. We educate people to help develop the country, so they need to be put to good use. There are many suggestions as to how to redress the situation, including retraining. But perhaps we need to also rethink employment itself.
There are many NGOs and social organisations that find it hard to get good people because people assume that either they don't pay well or they are disliked by the Government. Yet NGO work provides individuals with unique personal development experiences, different from other jobs. We should also encourage social entrepreneurship, where people use business skills to do society some good, rather than just make profit. It’s a different way of thinking, but different is exactly what we need these days. Besides, it earned Prof Muhammad Yunus, founder of the Grameen Bank, a Nobel Prize. If Bangladesh can have a Nobel laureate through social entrepreneurship, we might as well try it.

Joke: Two Nuns

There were two nuns...

One of them was known as Sister Mathematical (SM),

and the other one was known as Sister Logical (SL).

It is getting dark and they are still far away from the convent.

SM: Have you noticed that a man has been following us for the past thirty-eight and a half minutes? I wonder what he wants.

SL: It's logical. He wants to rape us.

SM: Oh, no! At this rate he will reach us in 15 minutes at the most! What can we do?

SL: The only logical thing to do of course is to walk faster.

SM: It's not working.

SL: Of course it's not working. The man did the only logical thing. He started to walk faster, too.

SM: So, what shall we do? At this rate he will reach us in one minute.

SL: The only logical thing we can do is split. You go that way and I'll go this way. He cannot follow us both.

So the man decided to follow Sister Logical.

Sister Mathematical arrives at the convent and is worried about what has happened to Sister Logical.

Then Sister Logical arrives.

SM: Sister Logical! Thank God you are here! Tell me what happened!

SL: The only logical thing happened. The man couldn't follow us both,so he followed me

SM: Yes, yes! But what happened then?

SL: The only logical thing happened. I started to run as fast as I could and he started to run as fast as he could.

SM : And?

SL: The only logical thing happened. He reached me

SM: Oh, dear! What did you do?

SL: The only logical thing to do. I lifted my dress up.

SM: Oh, Sister! What did the man do?

SL: The only logical thing to do. He pulled down his pants.

SM:Oh, no! What happened then?

SL : Isn't it logical, Sister? A nun with her dress up can run faster than man with his pants down.

And for those of you who thought it would be dirty, I'll pray for you!

I asked God

I asked God to take away my habit.
God said, No.
It is not for me to take away, but for you to give it up.

I asked God to make my handicapped child whole.
God said, No.
His spirit is whole, his body is only temporary

I asked God to grant me patience.
God said, No.
Patience is a byproduct of tribulations;
it isn't granted, it is learned.

I asked God to give me happiness.
God said, No.
I give you blessings; Happiness is up to you.

I asked God to spare me pain.
God said, No.
Suffering draws you apart from worldly cares
And brings you closer to me.

I asked God to make my spirit grow.
God said, No.
You must grow on your own!
But I will prune you to make you fruitful.

I asked God for all things that I might enjoy life.
God said, No.
I will give you life, so that you may enjoy all things.

I ask God to help me LOVE others, as much as He loves me.
God said...Ahhhh, finally you have the idea.

Who Am I?

Week after another week have pass by, many weekend had come and gone. During the days go by, have we improved ourselves? Have we help another human? Have we help ourselves? Have we improve? Here is a little of something that i would like to share ....

I'am a human person born free,
Free to choose between right and wrong,
I owe no obligation to anyone,
But to myself.

To see what i do is right or wrong,
To act according to my nature,
For what right or wrong I do,
Will be paid proportionally by myself.

I have deep and meaningful contact with my world,
And the world outside me,
I sometimes cry in search of myself,
For i don't know who i'am.

I cry with those who cry,
And laugh with those who laugh,
I feel the greatness of the mysteries of Life,
Birth, growth, love, suffering and death.

For sometimes in my life I get lost,
Lost in myself,
And I say to myself who I'am,
But I get an answer which no one knows, but I know,

Who am I?

Italian Lover

A virile, middle aged Italian gentlemen named Guido was relaxing at his favorite bar in Rome when he managed to attract a spectacular young blonde woman.

Things progressed to the point where he led her back to his apartment and, after some small talk, they retired to his bedroom where he rattled her senseless. After a pleasant interlude he asked with a smile, "So, you finish?" She paused for a second, frowned, and replied, "No."

Surprised, Guido reached for her and the rattling resumed. This time she thrashed about wildly and there were screams of passion. The sex finally ends and, again, Guido smiles and asks, "You finish?" Again, after a short pause, she returns his smile, cuddles closer to him and softly says, "No."

Stunned, but damned if he was going to leave this woman unsatisfied, Guido reaches for the woman yet again. Using the last of his strength, he barely manages it, but they end together screaming, bucking, clawing and ripping the bed sheets. Exhausted, Guido falls onto his back, gasping. Barely able to turn his head, he looks into her eyes, smiles proudly and asked again, "You finish?"

Barely able to speak, the beautiful blonde whispers in his ear, "No, I Norwegian."

The weather has been unpredictable for the last couple of days especially Saturday. Those in KL would know the heavy downpour I’m talking about. I had to go to Petaling Street to settle something and ended up with drenched shoes. I later headed to KLCC to pay my bills. I’m so happy to have settled 2 credit card debts…. I no longer have to go to Citibank again. Yes ! ! !

Since CNY was on a Sunday, the church had a CNY mass. As you can see by the pic after mass we had lion dance in the church. Father said not to take this as pagan practice but just to respect the culture of our fellow Chinese friends. I like the lion dance, I think they are the most ‘manja’ lions on the planet. Hehehehe...

Trip: Xiamen Part 1

* I’m unsure what I’m going to write but I’m certain it will have certain lewd, disrespectful, maybe racist and most definitely there will be loads of mention of pork or babi. So if you are uncomfortable with this I’d strongly suggest you to disregard the following entry.

On the eve of my flight to Xiamen, I meet up with Logen and Lenny at Decanter. We enjoyed each other’s company, we drank and we exchanged stories and jokes. I left late that night; I knew I had to repack my luggage, as at the last minute I had to take extra stuff. With the excitement I barely could go to bed. The plan was to get on the plane and doze off for at least couple of hours. I slept around 1 and woke up at 4.30 I was eager to be at KL Sentral at 5.30. At Sentral I checked in and waited for my colleague to arrive as usual he was late. He arrived at 6 and by the time he checked in it was already 6.30.

It was a very quite train ride you couldn’t see any scenery cause it was still dark outside. Eddie and I sat quietly hardly talking to each other as we both were lacking of sleep. When we arrived KLIA, we decided to have breakfast at CafĂ© Marche. It was a rip off Delifrance. It was a nice though compared to Delifrance it had nice bigger pastries. We took in the sight, we looked at the people that came to dine in and we listened to some of their conversation. We weren’t eavesdropping but people seem to forget to speak softly these days’ especially Chinese folk

Around 8-ish we decided to head to the boarding area, we noticed that our flight had a lot of ladies an all of them in hot sexy woman boots on them. We decided to be one of the last few people to check in, as we wanted to check out the ladies. The flight was quite comfortable and we served brunch with ample of wine to intoxicate us. The in-flight movie was Prestige a movie I’ve been waiting to see or even get a DVD copy. It was an excellent screenplay and cinematography. The cast, Jackman was convincing, but I truly admired Christian Bail in the movie so much that I am now a fan. Did you know his British?

Needless too say Eddie and I didn’t get and slumber we so planned. As the plane touched down at the Xiamen runaway it passed by a guardhouse and outside stood an officer saluting our plane. We thought it was weird, we got of the plane and headed to the toilet and my nostril sense was shocked by the scent it was pee it was something else. Well Eddie inform me that was the scent of the china people (being political correct here). That’s how they smell; my logic is they think it’s a cold place so they think they don’t need a bath for long time.

While we walked down to the custom’s checkpoint I had certain weird glances from the people like I didn’t fit in. When it was my time to see the customs officer I was of course scrutinized with questions of what I was doing in Xiamen, my purpose of my visit, etc. Eddie of the other had had no problem getting through customs. It took me about 20 minutes to clear it with them. I honestly wasn’t afraid as I had proper papers and wasn’t carrying anything illegal. Worst case I would fly back…. I did fear that.

Chew, our Head of Xiamen office was there to receive us. We got into the cab and headed to our hotel called Yi Jing. It wasn’t too cold. I perceived China to be loads of bicycle users, oily food and military people forcing strict laws. Well was I so wrong. Anyway on the way to the hotel we stop at the traffic light the window is open and I see a guy cross the road and walk straight towards me. He had tattoos on his arms and he looked fierce. Damm another bad experience is about to happen… He came to my window threw a bunch of cards and ran. I picked a card and it was one of those 24 hours sex service cards it was then I knew I’m going to have a blast in Xiamen, China.

The rooms were quite comfortable; I think it was a 2 star hotel. It wasn’t dodgy in any way there were lots of new business people staying there and it was a new hotel so not loads of people haven’t slept on my bed yet. I started to unpack, I didn’t want my office clothes looking too crumbled and besides I just wanted to settle in. I took a short nap and by 6 we were told to get ready for dinner. Eddie and I were quite antsy and we wanted to get out the hotel rooms as soon as we could. Chew did show us where the office was and he told us which floor it was. Eddie and I decided to be lil bold and head to the office, it was freaking cold so I was in my leather jacket.

While on our way to the office Eddie and I got stopped by the security. We told them we were heading to AKN Mtech but they had no clue what we were saying so we told them which floor and asked us if it was called ‘Kai An’. Eddie kind of figured it out that how AKN is called in China. We went on top and surprisingly the office looked very much like mine in Phileo. DJ the assistant in charge of Xiamen office greeted us. We hanged around for a while till we were brought to a restaurant near the office; it was an 8-minute walk from the office we got to take in the sights and lights.

Nighttime Xiamen is different from the day all of the buildings are lit with many striking running lights. We walked to what looked like a shopping mall and took the lift to the 6th floor as the door open I was in the restaurant. It didn’t have any doors. I guess the owners wanted to make full use of the restaurant space. Amy and Dj went to place and order while we sat down and enjoyed a nice cold beer, a local brand called Hui Qun. Meal was served there was buttered prawns with green tea leaves (Nice!!), A frog dish, a Fish dish, a pork dish, a beef dish and a French beans dish.

As the food came in front of me, I knew I was expected to eat it as a sign of courtesy and respect to my host. God did I have to lay it thick. I ate the food pretending it was good but deep down it was not really my cup of tea. The food really was extremely oily, I had one of each and drinking much tea and beer to wash it down. After the dinner we headed to browse through the mall. I wanted to see if they had any Nike stuff. I was hopping it would be cheap since its made in China anyway. To my disappointment it was 20% much more expensive that the Malaysian price. They had their own china brands with International ambassadors like Kobe Bryant and Shaq.

What I’m a bout to tell you is the truth and I’m not making this up. I was standing next to Shaq’s poster and Amy who speak very lil English points at me and says Shaq. She is obviously laughing but the shop owner thinks I’m Shaq and whips out a pen and paper for me to autograph. I of course say no but the owner forces me. Eddie shouts at me jokigly to sign the thing and I do. The owner is quite happy thinking Shaq was in her shop.

After the celebrity ordeal we head to this nice karaoke place. China pastime is to karaoke. This was a nice place. As china has vast amount of land it wasn’t stingy with building quite spacious karaoke. The place we went was a 4-story building, with at least 100 rooms in it. Before you think this was some kind of dodgy karaoke picture Red box but more classier. After you book a room at the ground floor you take the escalator to the 1st floor where they have a supermarket where you buy your drinks and tidbits. It was very cheap and then u go to the your room. My room came with a bathroom. Cool.

They sang the night away; I’ve heard some of them as Caroline always play a couple of hers during work time. Suddenly somewhere through the night I was asked to sign an English songs. And in the library they only had Backstreet Boys so I had to sing cheesy songs like Everybody, As Long As you love me, etc. Through the night too we played this game where everybody had a canister and in this canister had 5 dices u shake the canister and guess how many dices no it showed. Obviously being new to the game I sucked at it and I had to drink allot. This all finished at 3 in the morning. What a way to start you business trip.
