Diary: Whos Money Is This

Last Saturday I was shocked to a HUGE amount of $$MONEY$$ in my account. I have no idea whose money it is. Its definitely not mine. I couldn’t go to the bank cause I didn’t have my bank book with me and I don’t know my account number. I’m planning to keep in there till end of the month if no one takes it back then its mine.

I was in KLCC on Saturday, I’d didn’t want to stay at home although my flu hadn’t gotten any better. I first paid my maxis bill which was about to hit the limit, Maxis has some kind of party but it wasn’t really my scene after maxis I headed to Best Denki to scout for Marina’s wedding presents. I saw a couple of stuff but I didn’t get any, I headed to the cinema to see what was playing and I was happy to meet Theresa my old Catechism teacher. She was in line; I got her to get me a ticket for Fun with Dick and Jane. She wanted to watch Walking in the Line, the Johnny Cash movie.

We parted separate ways I headed to Chilies for lunch. It was weird that the whole of KLCC was not packed at all. Chilies were practically empty. I didn’t enjoy my food, I guessed because it was the flu. After lunch it was to the movies. The movie was a so-so for me. It wasn’t really that good. I expected more from Jim Carrey. The man looks old and more like Clint Eastwood. It was a good script.

After the movie I walked aimlessly around KLCC. I got some toiletries from guardian and Marina’s wedding gift. I walked in to ZARA and I finally found the jacket I’m been looking for, it was RM 385. On the spur of the moment I went to pay for it on my credit card. It would accept, I had no idea why? I was so embarrassed I walked out of the shout. I did think of using the RM9500 I so mysteriously have but I didn’t I just told myself it wasn’t meant to be now I regret not getting it. I want that jacket. This week I’m heading back to ZARA to get it. Good God let it be there.

I flowed mum to mass that evening, my priest is back from his convention. It amazes me that he thinks we miss him... poor soul. After mass we headed the food court for dinner, as mum didn’t cook anything. Alex and I got nasi lemak mum didn’t want to eat anything.

Sunday, I woke up at 8 for a walk. Sentul’s real quite place although they’re a lot of people. After the walk I headed to the market to get a loaf of bread and breakfast for mum. Sunday was a lazy day. Mum made her famous prawn curry balls. Those things are amazing all soaked up with the gravy just a burst of curry waiting to happen.

Diary: Flu, Flem & Fever

Sorry really haven’t had the time to blog last couple of weeks. I have been really under the weather. It was bad this time, I guess my body is getting an update on its virus pattern cause had the fever, the flu, sore throat and a real bad cough. Work was not that taxing, Lester amazingly understanding, as I am short handed and I was really sick. Interview sessions are going on every single day. It will be a matter of time till I get my new crew. Speaking of that, I’m proud to say I’ve added the term ‘Indians encouraged to apply’ in my advertisement. Trying not to be a racist or anything but if you look at the classifieds it always say Malays or Chinese encouraged to apply but never Indians. As such I was proud to me many of hope to be first.

Grease the musical will be in Malaysia in May. I plan to go anybody wants to go with me? To be honest most of my friends are not really into theatrical shows besides the tickets for this is quite steep. Most likely I’ll be going alone but anyone wants company please keep in mind.

CSI: Las Vegas is back with a brand new season. Warrick is married (Surprise! Surprise!), I didn’t know Catherine had a thing for him. I wonder whom he married to… I think this year Grissom will get some action with the new police officer (cant remember her name). Friends are back with its final season; everyone is leaving to do their thing now. Phoebe is married, Chandler and Monica are moving to the suburbs, Rachel’s leaving to Paris to work for LV; Joey is also leaving to L.A (I think). That’s how you break the group up…. Sigh. What will we do without Friends? It’s so into our system that we are able characterize others or ourselves to the character. How many of you have said these words… He’s like Chandler? Or worst still she is as weird as Phoebe? What I’ll miss most is actually the theme music. You can always catch me singing along to the theme, after 10 years its still is catch as it 1st played.

Talking of sitcoms I must give my kudos to 2 of the local series one has to be kopitiam series, I’m talking about the early years of Kopitiam before Joanna Bessy was thin and sexy. They had catchy theme music as well. The second one is the new KL Night on 8TV. I must say its lil rough on the edges but I’m hoping it will be smoother as the programme goes along. Really depicts the lifestyle of KL people.

Diary: I'm So Lazy

This week I was quite lazy to go back to work. Knowing the fact that I’ve had a long holiday for Chinese New Year. I promised to meet up with Peggy but I guess I broke that promise cause I just couldn’t find the time. This week was Lenny’s last day in AKN Mtech. He is leaving to greener pastures and I do wish him best of luck. Before Lenny left he did put me into perspective. He said I am not No 1; there is always someone better in the game. I guess he is right, kind off true. I’m not NO 1 but I got to strive to be no 1.

With Lenny gone I’m without a wingman. I feel the lost but life goes on. Thank you Notorious B.I.G. for keeping me in check. The new album is amazing. The guy is dead but he still has amazing songs, I guess thanks to technology. Last Friday I had to take an emergency leave to sort some important stuff, I had some bank issue that I needed to care of. That night it was Sharon’s birthday. She was kind enough to invite me; the party was to begin at 10.30-11.00

I met Mel at 9 at Thai club; I got the presents for her birthday. We drank and we talked about what things that has happened. I also met Boon Siong the newly married guy with his buddies. Yogi came some time later. We were waiting for Sharon to arrive at Poppy to begin the party, but knowing that woman she was late, Mel called it quits after 12. He headed back home I stayed back. Sharon only came at 1.30. I was really disappointed, as a host you have guest to entertain. I came I mingled for a while and I left it was too late and too crowded.
Oh Yeah CONGRATULATIONS Shari for passing her examinations. Welcome to the working life now.

Short Story: Valentines Day Part 1

Where: Alexis Bar
Date: 14 February
Day: Tuesday a.k.a. Valentines Day

It was the dreaded Valentines Day and I was feeling low, work had been shitty and it’s been a year since my last relationship. I needed a drink and I needed want fast. I headed to Alexis, they had a jazz quartet; the music soothed me along with the glass of vodka in my hand. The place was crawling with love birds, ‘Suckers’ I thought celebrating over price everything on a day a Saint is killed maliciously. Sometime during the night my eye caught this bunch of people at the bar. There were 4 guys in posh suits along with a beautiful slender woman. She was obviously bored with her crowd. We exchanged glances. She smiled and I turned away. I sneaked a peek, she was wearing a red dress with I must say it came with a high cut. She was playing around with her lime in her martini. She caught me looking at her and smiled again. I smiled back.

The guy next to her was her boyfriend, he tried to include her in their conversation but she was reluctant. She must be a romantic I figured, maybe she wanted the attention on Valentines Day, all women do anyway. She looked and me and this time I smiled, I noticed her drink was finished and I got the bartender to send her another martini. She accepted it, the boyfriend didn’t notice it either I guess he was too engrossed with his friends. She mouthed to me thank you and I nodded with my glasses raised and I took a sip and so did she. I would have walked over and introduced myself if she was alone but she was with her boyfriend and my rule is never disturb a couple.

So all I could do was to look at her and smile, we were flirting with our eyes I guess. She excused herself from her party and then headed to the bathroom. She said ‘Hi’ on the way to the toilet and I just choked like any typical male. Five minutes later, someone sat next to me and it was her, she said hi again. I looked at her part and her boyfriend was still engrossed with his friends. I said hi back. She ordered another martini and I had the same as well. She introduced herself to me; her name was Shamayne Leelawati she worked for a leading magazine company as an Editor. I felt belittled. I introduced myself and we began talking we had so much in common. I guess being an Editor; books would be one of them. It was funny that we have nearly the same taste in them and what was weirder we are reading the same book currently Tash Aw’s Silk Harmony Factory.

She said her boyfriend brought his clients to what was suppose to be their romantic diner. I sympathized with her. We talked on so many things but at one point I just tuned out all I could think of was to reach out to her and give her a kiss. She was definitely enjoying herself with me I guessed, she was laughing and after 3 martinis each, that’s where the trouble began her boyfriend finally noticed she was missing and began looking for her. He came to us all smiles and introduced himself. Shamayne was in a ‘Happy State’ and wasn’t really in the mood to leave. I didn’t do anything, it wasn’t my place. He wanted to leave immediately; he raised his tone of voice. I looked at bartender trying not to be involved. Shamayne’s voiced too raised she was saying stuff like how dead their relationship is and how she wants it to be over. The guy shouted ‘FINE ! ! !’ and stormed out of the bar. Shamayne looked at me smiled and ordered 2 tequila shots, we both downed it and she pulled me to the dance floor.

It had been ages since I’ve danced. Shamayne hold me close as the singer on the stage her rendition of Frank Sinatra’s - Dancing Cheek to Cheek. The crowd was looking at us, who wouldn’t after such a commotion and we were the only ones on the dance floor. Everyone must be thinking I ruined their relationship. I could help but notice that Shamayne smelled good, she smelt of fruits…wild fruits. I looked into her eyes and I lost myself in her dreamy eyes. There was connection that night that I couldn’t understand. I wanted to kiss those lips and I gathered all of my courage and came closer, Shamayne closed her eyes and collapsed in my arms.

Movie: Keeping Mum

British comedy has always been more intellectual not like the American more simplistic with sex and fart jokes. Keeping Mum has a star cast, which is Rowan Atkinson (The infamous Mr Bean), Kristin Scott Thomas (The English Patient), Maggie Smith (one of Professor from Harry Potter) and Patrick Swayze (Dirty Dancing). Absent-minded Reverend Walter Goodman (Rowan Atkinson), his dissatisfied wife Gloria (Kristin Scott Thomas), and their two children, Holly and Petey, awaits the arrival of their new housekeeper, Grace Hawkins (Maggie Smith). Gloria is a woman struggling to cope. Her teenage daughter's a nymphomaniac, her young son's the perennial target for the local bullies, and her marriage to Walter has long-since dwindled into monotony. It's no wonder she's failing to resist the advances of her handsome, American, lothario of a golf pro, Lance (Patrick Swayze). What this family needs is salvation. And fast. It comes in the form of "Grace Hawkins", a gentle motherly woman with a smile for everyone and an answer for everything. But Grace is not all she seems... (Think of a dark Marry Poppins)

Diary:Brief Happenings

This week briefly I was visited by close relatives, I visited some close relatives, Went to a government office and got myself sloshed as I was a lil down and bored. I watched ‘IT” to those who have no idea what I’m talking about. ‘IT’ is the horror tele-movie that scared me shitless in the 1980’s. I was fortunate enough to get a copy for myself. I watched it late night and I was surprised to see the cast. There was young Seth Green who appeared to be tall in the movie, the dad in 8 Simple Rules and the mum in Smallville. Needless to say the graphics was such a joke as I watched it with my brother. Till this day I hate clowns because of this movie. Thank you Stephen King

And or course I spent a wonderful afternoon with Shari. We had lunch at Chillis and a movie (‘Keeping Mum’). We later went to Best Denki to get a rice cooker we were joking how funny we looked like and if Mel we to find us here he would have definitely something to say. On Sunday, I had trouble waking up to attend mass. I just felt it was not the place to be, I left after communion. I headed to McD for breakfast. I needed strong coffee and McD had that and it was refillable. After 2 cups and the Sunday Mail I headed back home did my chores wrote a short story and watched Juara lagu. I was happy to see Jac win. Indian woman doing us proud and she made Mawi sing her song. Both of them should have a face out. No sms bullshit cause we know who would win but judges, professional unbiased judges.
