Diary: Time Draws Near

Work: My World Cup Project now draws near, what began in mid of Dec now nearly comes to a finish. Wow, this is the longest and the largest project I’ve ever managed. I must say it was a team effort. Being Maxis and all there is still things that needs to be done. Besides Maxis I’m also concurrently managing M1 World Cup WAP Quiz. They launch on the 5th June. I’m planning to take the team out for lunch as a thank you and a job well done. All of them need a good holiday. I’ve gotten management to agree to give them travel vouchers worth RM800. As a lil thank you.

Loads of people from the other department are inquiring to join my department. They is actually need for this but I just don’t have the space to accommodate them. I hear rumours that the company might be seeking space in the new KL Sentral building. I’m hoping the content team gets moved there. I’ve told Lester that I wanted to be Pixar. You know Pixar is under Disney right? They have the freedom of management to do what they want? And I want that. Lester has agreed to it and says he will look into it. Hmmm I can picture it now my own office….

Weekend: I spent the weekend on a training seminar. The title of the seminar was ‘Voice of Leadership’. It was to teach us to be leaders. The seminar was sooooo boring. I caught myself sleeping so many times. His answer for explanation was go look into the Internet. GOD! ! ! We didn’t pay him that much to tell us to go to the Internet. Nevertheless the food t Armada Hotel was quite good. On Sunday they had this amazing dish called ‘roti canai durian’ it was heaven, every mouth full of heavenly bliss

I was the tourist guide for my Pakistan staff. I brought them around time during the evenings of my weekend. We had dinner at Mandarin Oriental at a Chinese Halal restaurant. On the companies budget of course. Its very posh place I must say, I felt a lil out of place.

At night we headed to 1 Utama for late night movie. They treated me to a Golden Class show of Da Vinci code. It was my 1st time watching a movie in Gold Class. A ticket cost RM40. I thought u get all the drink and popcorn u want but that’s not the case u still had to but your own popcorn and drinks. The seats were very comfortable. They were lazy boys. So u had to do a Chandler and Joey thing… and it did feel that good.

Note: I really miss hanging out with my friends I apologise for not meeting or not calling u back. Work is taxing…..

Diary: I'm still alove

Stroll back in time:
Last couple of weeks my colleague handed me a historic CD. He handed me the full 93-minute match of the 1999 UEFA final of Manchester United vs. Bayern Munich. It was the year Manchester won the tremble. It was an amazing sport story. Bayern scored in the first five minutes of the match and then they hold their ground till the very end. As Manchester United fan by the 85th minute you begin to lose hope. Alex Ferguson makes his 1st substitute, he puts Teddy Sheringham in and he scores within minutes and now everyone thinks it will have to go to extra time, but before that 3 minutes is added to the clock. Ole Gunner Slockjear comes in to replace Andy Cole. An in the 2nd minutes of stoppage time he scores. And we win the title; we lived up to his name as Babyface Assassin. Amazing how we won in mere 2 minutes.

I was near SRI MURNI last Saturday. One of my colleagues got married someplace very near to that school. Its amazing how they place has not changed for the past 5 years. It’s still the same hot lil place I know
Work: I’m so caught up with work that I have no time for anyone now. Everyday I come back at 10 at night. I have unhealthy meals. My so-called girlfriend is pissed off with me cause I don’t spend enough time with her. I think I’m not cut off with relationships. I always choose the wrong ones for me. All the free time I have I just want to sleep. Sorry for those I’ve not returned your call. Most likely I was asleep at the time

Diary: Break

Hey Guys,

Life: Its been too longs since I’ve blogged anything. There are good reasons behind it. One, is that I’ve been working hard of the Maxis World Cup project which is set to launch on the 17 May. Officially Celcom has lost the World Cup Media war as Maxis has bought the rights as the official TV sponsor for World Cup 2006. But must say Maxis have been suckered by one of their 3rd parties. They claim having rights for World Cup contents that could be used as official downloads. These pics are the same ones that Celcom is using for their 100 Years World Cup Campaign which you will see plastered all over town.

Besides having a busy schedule. I’ve managed to snuck a small holiday. The company had the annual company trip this year on the 5-7th May. This year was at Langkawi… the land of cheap booze. Yes we were massively sloshed. What was fun was renting a scooter and driving it the whole of Langkawi. Sorry I’ve got NO pictures to share with you. My camera has spoiled and I couldn’t borrow one in time. Langkawi food was not that great except for this place called Wan Thai. The food was excellent. Also I’ve got ghostly stories to share for those who are brave enough at heart. The island is spooked I tell u.

Science: Yesterday I was watching National Geography and they had one of my favourite topics, the GREAT WHITE SHARK. A surfer was attacked by 2 great white; the question was why he was picked among the rest in the ocean surfing at the time. After that ordeal another shark attached him again months later at a different town. What attracted to target this surfer? There were 2 answers to that. 1. He might have a strong electromagnetic pulse discharge which attracts these beast and 2. Could be because he peed too much in the ocean and the shark caught his scent. So next time you’re in a shark-infested ocean do not dare to pee in it

Diary: Its That Heat

Nothing much to report this weekend. But I do lil to speak about humbleness. I guess I’ve forgotten how to be humble and moderate. There was time where if my shoes were torn a little I would just throw it away fixing it was never on my mind. Now being my budget is much more tighter you look for ways to make things last. Over the weekend I had shoe problems all the shoes I owned gave way. Obviously I couldn’t afford new pairs of shoes so I headed to the cobbler in the Mall. The shop was closed. I had no idea where else to go. So I headed to Chinatown, there are so many cobblers there. I got my shoes glued and stitched at a very reasonable price.

As I was near Chinatown I decided to take liberty of the occasion. Mum went around shopping for a new belt and I looked for new CD’s. I got some old favourites like Andy Williams, Frank Sinatra and Nat King Cole. But what I really thought was a prize was getting the new Sergio Mendes Timeless album. I recommend to all who likes Samba… its modernised Samba. For those who’ve seen the Nike Brazilian advert where the whole team shows off their football skills the music behind is from Sergio Mendes and Black Eye Peas.
