Diary:

Story 1

The pas 4 days I’ve been leaving early just to have a quick bath and to take care of my neighbours kid. I must say there is nothing better having a 8 month year old kid in your arms in the teething stage where they just want to bite everything, doesn’t matter if your shoulder. Have you caught Rob-B-Hood, it stars Jackie Chan and Leo Ku as 2 burglars who kidnap a baby and have to take care of it for 2 weeks. I felt like them. It was nice to play daddy for a while…

Story 2

This week I headed to Ipoh to help a Hindu home orphanage. Many of you still think there is ‘udang sebalik batu’ when I tell you I’m doing charity work. Well there isn’t and if by now you still don’t believe me I don’t give a rat’s ass. Well the team met up at Menara Millennium at 8 and we left around 8.30. We loaded the cars with gifts and we headed to Ipoh. Fiona, Farah, Jo and Sue were in Halmy’s car where Sugar and me was in Padma’s roomy Sorrento.

We arrived at 11 at the orphanage. There was a clown cum magician there. Weird dude with raffia string as hair and with a weird multicolour pants. He was a funny man with some good magic trick. The kinds we vegetarian and we served lunch I honestly thought that were such a sin. How could you be a vegetarian in a place like Ipoh where food is haven. We didn’t get to mingle with the kids like how it was in Kajang. After lunch we headed to Ipoh town. I got some stuff like home made Jellbeas and Ompodi. We stopped by a cafĂ© and had a white coffee and soft bun. The coffee was excellent. On our way home we stopped by at Tapah to get its famous jambu batu. I got that for mum. She loves it.

Diary: Happy Birthday ol Friend

Last Friday was Yoges birthday, I wasn’t really dressed nor looked the part for a party but I meet him at Shrroms. Mel was there too. These are the person who holds strands to my past. Its been awhile since I’ve met them thus it was a lil awkward at first as they had conversation either I was not to know about or I had no clue about. This happes when you don’t meet them for a while I guess. Sharon and her friend just the dinner and gladly paid for it, Melman got Yoges a birthday gift and I absent minded forgot to get him one…. Terrible friend I am.

After dinner we headed to this new club called Aloha. It was Hawaiian themed club 4 storeys high. It also had a basement techno club with real good interior design. Most of the Thai club people are working now in so it was easy to get discounted drinks. The club had a crappy live band though; it was a Malay band that couldn’t pronounce the words properly. The in-house DJ was good though played upcoming beats. The party ended up at 3 in the morning. The guys had supper at Petaling Street and then all headed back. It was already 4 in the morning by the time I reached home. I took a quick shower and I drop myself into the world of slumber,

I expected only to wake up past afternoon but I was up by 8 in the morning. I just couldn’t sleep back, that didn’t mean I was off my bed I still lazed in my bed hoping I would fall back to slumber. I got up at 11; there was no one at home and nothing to eat. I was too lazy to go out to do my X’mas shopping but I finally dragged my feet out of the home. I started my shopping at Sg Wang. I got some PS2 gifts for my cousins and I had to go to the DVD shop ended up buying 10 DVD’s. God don’t I have the will to stop spending?

I had lunch at Lot 10; they had 3 Tenors singing carols. Nearly broke my heart, they sounded beautiful thought of home and my brother who I dearly miss. After lunch I headed to KLCC to major shopping. I got loads of stuff and I also sidetracked and got a shirt for myself. I headed to Kinokuniya to get a book that I lost. I lost My Best Friends Girl by Dorothy Koomson Cant remember where I left it. After shopping I headed to the barbers for lil trim, as I desperately needed one. It was already 6.30 by the time I reached home. I was dead tired; mum was busy sewing curtains for Christmas. Mum made an amazing dinner, which were buttered prawns and kangkung belacan. Yum Yum.

Sunday I attended mass at St John’s. Mass was as per usual… BORING. I headed to Lotus for breakfast. I was killing time, as I needed to pick up my shoes that I sent to be stitched and resoled. I ended up not picking up my shoes as they place was closed. Dam! ! !

Seasonal Security Announcement

With the holiday season almost upon us, now is a good time to remind ourselves to take steps to make sure Christmas isn't spoiled by criminals. Criminals take the opportunities afforded them by the extra shopping we do, the hustle and bustle of town centres as we rush around, and the value of the goods we buy as presents and store in our homes until the big day. We might also be more trusting and generous at Christmas when requests for charity are made, giving the unscrupulous a chance to collect for their own causes.

So what can we do?

Out on the Town

With office parties and general Christmas celebrations, bars, restaurants and other venues are often crowded. Don't leave bags over the back of your chair and keep wallets and purses close to your body to make it more difficult for the pickpocket. Busy places make it easier for the sneak thief, so be alert at all times. Make prior arrangements as to how you will get home. Avoid any potential disturbances on the street. Stay with friends if you can. Make sure someone knows where you are going and what time you will be back. Don't drink too much - you could become a target for thieves.

Out Shopping

When the shops are crowed, the pickpocket has more chance to steal from you. If you can't arrange to shop during less busy times, make sure you stay alert and be extra careful with your wallet or purse. If you have too many bags you will be too busy trying to hold on to these to be aware of anyone stealing from you. You could try to make smaller shopping trips rather than do it all at once and carry too much. Have your purse/wallet close to your body and don't carry too much cash. The same applies to travelling on crowded buses or trains. If you travel by car, make sure you park in a well- lit area, lock all doors and windows and do not leave presents in view. Try not to return to your car to leave purchases in the boot before continuing with your shopping trip as thieves may well watch car parks for just such a chance. Arrange to collect heavy items from stores when you have finished all your shopping. Keep your chequebook and cheque card separately.

At Home

Having bought all those wonderful presents, don't make it easy for someone to steal from your home. Keep them out of sight until last thing on Christmas Eve and if you 'hide' or store larger items such as bicycles in the shed or outbuildings, make sure they are very secure. Now is a good time to check that you know what you have both normally (TV, Video etc) and with the extra presents you have bought. You may well find you need to check your insurance to make sure you are covered for the value of goods in your home. Take the frame numbers of new cycles and the serial numbers of new electrical equipment for future reference. Remember, empty boxes left outside advertise that you have new goods inside - dispose of packing carefully.

If you go out for the evening - make it look like someone is at home by turning on lights and the radio. Don't leave curtains open so people can see your decorations as potential thieves can see in. Be extra careful about locking doors and windows.

If you go away for the holiday period - use an automatic timer for lights and ask a trusted neighbour to watch your home. Don't forget to cancel newspapers and milk if you have them delivered and either redirect your mail through the Post Office or have your neighbour take mail into the house - unopened Christmas cards and mail are a sure sign that a house is empty.

Strangers at the door - genuine delivery personnel usually have identification, uniforms and liveried vehicles and should not need to come into your home. Charity collectors will have identification and will not be offended if you ask to see it. If you are not sure but want to make a donation, ask whether these can be made in other ways, perhaps through a bank.

Finally, have a happy and crime-free Christmas holiday....

Diary: Good Friends; Parting

Before I go ranting about my not so important life I would like to get off something on my chest. On Saturday 1.15am Mrs Inez Veronica McCoy passed away. She leaves behind 2 sons. I didn’t know the lady personally but I knew her fruits of her labour. She grew up 2 wonderful kind-hearted sons. I rise up a prayer for the lady…

I’m so not in the mood for work, I want to go on my X’mas holidays. Mindshare is having their company trip to Istanbul on the Eve of New Year. I’m so envious as they only had to pay RM500 for their trip. Padma and Halmy will be extending their trip to Greece as well. I plan to do my X’mas shopping this weekend I’ve mostly bought the things I need but there are few gifts I need to get. Times are bad with me so you guys wont receive as pricey gift as you guys normally do.

I meet up with Shari on Friday we had dinner at Decanter. We talked and we laughed I believe one of us laughed so much till our cheeks hurt so bad. Decanter was decorated with the Christmas feel I felt so comfortable in the restaurant. Shari & I had steak and we shared apple pie alamode. Yum yum.

On Saturday I got up early I headed to town to settle some of my bills, I headed to SFC for breakfast. I needed to get Uncle David a gift so I headed to Isetan, couldn’t find much so I headed to Kinokuniya and got him a real nice pen. I met Andrew at KL Sentral so we could head to Klang. Kelvin and I were throwing a dinner together for Aunt Ire and Uncle David. We got some local dishes like ying yong and hokkien mee, yong tau fu and some nyoya kuih’s. Lil Michael sat on my lap as he sat his meal and after all was done and over we sat down and watched the Grinch. He was a lil fidgety but he did enjoy the movie. Hats off to Jim Carrey for pulling out the Grinch perfectly. That’s my favourite Xmas movie.

Diary: Presentation, Red Carpet, High Tea

This week there are only 3 days worth mentioning, which is Friday, Saturday and Sunday. You might have noticed that my blog now plays music. Thanks to Cavell for teaching how to do it and making me love My Chemical Romance. I’m so hooked to Mama. It had a little a mixture of Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody in it. Thanks Cavell for the music link and for bringing back ROCK into my life.

Friday was the ‘D’ day for me. It was my BIG presentation with Disney. I was a nervous wreck couldn’t do much work the whole day as I just kept thinking about it. Padma and Halmy came over for lunch at Pelita and they course took a ‘mick’ at me as I was smartly dressed on a Friday. After lunch I headed to Isetan to get some Disney cookies, I’ve watched Apprentice and you will know that effort in presentation always carries some marks and I wanted to reflect it. I wanted the job. Lester began by giving the company profiles and I did the Disney presentation. I was nervous and I must say it did show in my presentation luckily Lester helped me out.

The lady I believe was quite impressed with the presentation as I provided her fact she didn’t know about Disney herself. She asked me if I wanted a job in Disney Japan? Exciting in it. I already can hear the beat to Teriyaki Boys already… Fast and Furiyooooo

Shahbaz was in town to present 2007 budget to the Directors. After his presentation we left to Kinokuniya. He wanted to buy his comic books and I wanted to pick my Harlem Coben Book, Fade Away. I had to special order the book, as it was no longer in their stock. After hanging out with Shahbaz I headed to Bangsar Shopping Centre Chillies to meet up with Anusha and Farah. We had a small meal and we talked for a while. BSC had already done their decorations for Christmas.

Saturday I attended EH! 20 Yang Anggun Party. I got an invite courtesy of Shari from the Blue Inc Group. The event was held at Espanda. It’s been a really long time since I entered Espanada or Emporioum for those who knew it back in the day. The interior decoration to me felt like it was a big living room with drapes hung from the ceiling and large comfy sofas. There were loads of local celebrities and fashion designers at the event. The whole place was swamped with HOT Malay chicks. It was like kryptonite to me. I had extra tickets so I brought Rahiza along with me. It was nice to see for a change Shari working hard. Hahahaha…

On Sunday I attended mass at Divine Mercy Shah Alam. The church was so beautiful. I loved the way they did the Mary’s grotto it felt so peaceful. They had no place to light candles, what they had was one of those mechanical ones. You put in a Ringgit and an electrical candle would light up. After mass we headed to Hotel Grand Blue Wave at Shah Alam for high tea. After high tea we headed home. I was too lazy to do any chores so I only ironed 2 shirts for work and I lazed about. I must get around to do it.

Diary: Bday, Bash, Arrival

We celebrated Padma’s birthday at Decanter on Wednesday. We had dinner and we started playing 7 diamonds. The gals came later they lit up the birthday cake and started to sing from the driveway to where we sat. Padma was definitely taken aback by this. After dinner we had to leave the gals abruptly as we had plans to go watch James Bond: Casino Royale. The movie was awesome. After the movie we had tea at Pelita before heading home.

On Thursday Farah came over for a presentation with Jo. We had tea after that and I found out the ladies weren’t happy to see us leave abruptly and they thought some of the guy’s behaviour were rude. I honestly think the whole incident was blown out of proposition. Luckily I was in clear as you guys knew how a gentlemen I am when it comes to the ladies… hahahaha.

On Friday I meet up with Padma for tea and we discuss the matter at hand. It was lil sad to hear the gals were quite upset about Padma’s party and we tried o come up with conclusion how this could happen. Besides that we talked about organizing another charity event at ‘Our Home’. We wanted to celebrate the joys of Christmas with them. We plan to take it one step further we plan to organize a X’mas party. This of course takes bit money. I thinking of collecting a secret bag. Those who would like to donate please contact me please every little helps.

On Saturday it was the hunt for my Disney tie, to no avail did I find any tie. In frustration I did something I’m not proud of. I went shopping. I got a new book some toiletries, contacts. Mum didn’t cook and Andrew was hungry at home so I ordered 2 Triple Plays from Chillies to go. We had a male bonding moment I think. Later in the evening we headed down to Klang to receive Aunt Irene and David from London. They will be down for 2 weeks. So I’ll definitely play tourist sometime this week… gosh there goes my weekends.

James Bond: Casino Royale

The movie opened on Nov 16 but I and some of the privilege others got a chance to catch a private movie screening on Nov 15 before the whole world went to see it. The security for this was ridiculous all camera phones were to be confiscated and you had to undergo metal detection.

As for the movie the screenplay for the movie was EXCELLENT but the actor was no James Bond. He lacked the suaveness of Sean Connery or Pierce Brosnan. I would definitely recommend to others to go and watch it. It’s worth your RM10. The lady in the movie was also lovely to look at. I always wondered where do they get them, you never hear about them at all and you will never hear about them again. Strange don’t you think? The actions in the movie were top class from the beginning of the movie to the very end. Hats off to the director. I must commend the director for successfully bringing out the raw essence of Bond to celluloid.

Diary: Its been a long time

Hi Guys,

It’s been a long time since I’ve blogged. Many things have happen since the raya break. First I must say hitchhiking from Tanjung Malim to Ipoh & Melaka has been such a memorable thing for me and I don’t think I’ll ever forget it. The only thing I regret is that I didn’t take any pictures. My camera is not to par and I really need a new one. I went on the road to break out from my daily life routine. Its also amazing the people that let you ride on their transportation. They all have a story of their own that they would like to share. I’ve been contemplation hitchhiking to Penang. Now that would be an adventure don’t you think.

One of my closest office colleague Winnie recently tight the know with her long time beau. She had her reception at Pearl International Hotel. It was a very nice wedding I meet a lot of ex colleague’s and some old flings.

I’ve been keeping work a lil laid back due to lack of motivation but I guess the negativity has pilled up and it burst up on my face I’ve got some problem s now that I need to straighten out. Besides that the company has taken more stringent guidelines so there isn’t any room for hanky-panky anymore. I think its good but I also think it limits the creativity of the team.

There is a new project that I’m quite hyped about I’m bidding for Disney’s mobile in Malaysia. I really do hope I can get it but I don’t think management is quite too keen on it. Last week I had two different lives. On Friday I was at Shang-ri La Hotel. I was a guest of AMP and Mindshare at the Perodua Radio Air Show. It was a star-studded event. I sat with Mindshare people, which consist of Sheila, Vicky, Jo Yau, Anusha, Sue and Fiona… Yes they were all ladies. We had flowing Moet through the night with a so-so Chinese cuisine. There were performances from Reshmonu, Lo, Fauziah Latif, Pop Shuvit & Yogi B and Nachitra. I got my album signed by Yogi and the Gang. After the award show we headed to Rum Jungle and we danced till 3 in the morning. Felt like a celebrity

The next day I woke up at 8am to get ready to go to the orphanage. I was fresh I had breakfast at SFC and I meet Padma at his office. His lovely wife was there as well. The gang meet up and we left to Kajang at about 11. I sat at the same car with Jo, Sue & Anusha. I spent the journey speaking to Anusha. She was quite insightful.

Our Home was the name of the place it had 35 kids with mixture of boys and girls we came with KFC. They were lovely kids all wanting attention. The moment I stepped in a 4 year old boy hold my hand and smiled at me. It could be because I was carrying the chicken or he just wanted the attention. The kids sat on the floor to eat their meal. The said their prayers before they ate. Something I used to do as well when I was a child, now I think it’s embarrassing. I sat on the floor with them and I shared a meal with them. They were smart kids.

After lunch with the kids we headed back to Menara Millennium. The journey back again I picked Anusha’s brain, we exchanged stories, ex.’s it felt good. The four of us, (Jo, Sue Anusha & myself) later went for team at Ali Maju. We talked more then we left. I took a short nap, which turned to deep slumber. I only woke up the next day for mass.

Lunch I had it at Sharul’s open house. It was in a secluded place in Ampang. It had the best view of KL I had ever seen. After lunch I headed home to do my basic Sunday chores. In the evening I headed to Maxis Sports TV launch at the Legends Bar. I mingled till about 11pm where Lester and I headed to Finnegan’s to see Liverpool get their assed kicked by Arsenal. Sorry guys. Liverpool Sucks

Diary: Buka Puasa

This year I didn’t enjoy any ‘Buka Puasa’ buffet function. I had more fun with the Bazaar. At the fraction of the buffet price there was soo much for one to choose from. This week so me doing the buffet thing as well. It began on Tuesday when we entertained Maxis at Shrooms. It was soo packed and congested that at the end of the day by the time u get in line u kind of lost of your appetite.

Wednesday was Celcom, I was not initially on the guest list but there was some cancellation on Celcom side and I was back on. But I choose not to go on the count of pride and principle. If I wasn’t good enough to be on the list initially I wasn’t good enough now. Thursday was my favourite of them lot. It was dinner with Primes Sports Padma and Halmy at Decanter. Our new gateway from town. Great ambience, Great food and a Great cup of Joe. Friday was AKN’s ‘Buka Puasa’ at Armada it was the same ol same ol, was really disappointed though very less choice and the place an again too crowded. Talk about commercialising the Ramadhan month.

Work wise has been getting the heat from Lester. He wants us all to buck up and not to be complacent. Well I’m transferring some of the heat to my team and some of them don’t like it well too bad. Well that’s the part of growing up in it. I’ve been contemplating another line of job but I wonder what. Maybe join ESPN…. Let see what next year brings me. Got to consult my Feng Shui…..

Diary: Boring Weekend

The week was ok tremendous amount of meeting but nothing much happening at the work front. I need a break from work. Away from it all. But due to financial reasons I’m stuck in KL. It amazes me that people in debt can still have a holiday, why don’t you pay my money back. Don’t miss use my courtesy I have extended to you. I’m honestly sick to hear your excuses on how you don’t have any money but in reality week after week you go to the clubs to drown yourself in liquor. Where is this money coming from?

The weekend I had the lazy bug in me, I slept half the day away and I watched Miami Vice. Boy was that a crappy movie. The quality of it was like watching Cops on TV. I guess the director wanted to go with a reality kind of feel but the outcome was horrendous. Gong Li was sexy though the only good thing about the movie. Bad Boys 2 was still much better.

It was mums birthday on Saturday she didn’t want a big fuss on it so we just had a mini celebration at home. After mass we got a bucket of KFC and a litre of coke. Mum and dad drank my Dewars while I had Tequila Rose. For those who had not tried it’s like baileys but its strawberry flavour. I was surprised to get a call from Yoges; he wanted me to join him at a club near Bar Savaghn and by the looks of it Melman and the gang were there. Sadly I couldn’t meet up with them.

I was at Fiona’s house warming party there was loads of people there and Fiona didn’t want us to leave. It was bad enough that we showed up only 10. They had liquor of course but I wasn’t really in the mood for drinks. We played charade and that was soo much fun. I must say I meet some nice ladies there and there is one that caught my eye… We only left at 1.30 in the morning. Kawan Lama’s Corner to have a meal, we watched how England struggle with Macedonia. We headed home; I wasn’t in a sleeping mode so I was channel surfing when I noticed that RTM 2 was showing Arul. I stayed to watch it till 3 in the morning. Sunday in not worth mentioning…..

Diary:....

The week has been very kind to me, not much work just loads of meeting. Now I have 3 Assistant Managers, Logen Daryl and Eiena. Most of my jobs have been delegated to them now I know how it field to be the boss... hehehehe. But that doesn’t mean I have nothing to do I have so much of legal things to work out which is quite tedious. To top it all off I have a jerk from Universal Music who wants to sue my company for infringement of content. That is a very touch and I’m working closely with Lester for his guidance.

This month I’m also quite low on finance as its both my mum and my brothers birthday. Gifts to buy… Sigh how will I manage X’mas this year. I was supposed to take Padma and Halmy out for a bukak puasa function on Friday but it got cancelled. Since pay had already kicked in I decide to head to my DVD man to pass my list to him. He as always was very much happy to see. I headed to ‘pasar malam’, I guess it was about 8 when I went there all the food was gone there was nothing to buy must be because of the ramadhan month.

I had a restless sleep my mattress needs to be changed, was thinking of the Dunlop mattress I saw in Midvalley. I wonder if I should get it? I woke up at 10 and like normal I was watching my routine cartoons and about 1 I left home to collect my DVD’s I did side track to Citibank to pay my bills. When will I be rid of the curse of Credit Card? After collecting My DVD’s I headed to Best Denki to get my mum her birthday present. She wanted a blender for her birthday. So I got one that did everything. It was juice, it was a blender and a grinder and it also came with an additional jug just in case my mum broke the other one. Near best Denki, Isetan was having a pillow sale I got one. I noticed that u couldn’t test pillow if it fits your head fine. You just have to buy then blindly.

All of this shopping and I was feeling a lil peckish, I looked at my watch and it was 4pm, where the time go. I headed home, mum; dad and Andrew were heading to mass followed with some church dinner. I would have at least 4 hours of alone time. I was starving by 5 so I headed to Bazaar Ramdhan. I bought nasi briyani johor with ‘ayam masak merah’. Boy was that good. I also got this ‘kuih’, which was like white on top and green at the bottom. It was like jelly but not. I took an extra long hot shower. Cleaned the house a bit and pretended I was staying alone and started to watch some DVD. I watched 3 movies back to back. X-Men: The Last Stand, 16 Blocks and Edison Force. All good movies in each way.

Sunday was as usual, I headed to St John’s, did my weekly chores. Watched Schuey beat the crap out of Alonso and Fisichella. It was an amazing race but now I wonder if it was rigged. It’s too good to be true. Alonso and Shuey are tied in points and there are just 2 races to go. But I must say I’m excited to see the next race in Suzuka, Japan.

Superwoman

All the woman friends I know love this song. Some know it by heart. Some swear by it. The songs made famous by Karyn White. One of my dear ex-girlfriend loves this song and can sing it anywhere. Recently I was given Jaclyn Victors new album and the 1st song of the track was Superwoman. She brought her rendition to it, which was quite lovely. I do wonder is this an anthem for all ladies? Anyway thought I would share with you the lyrics to the song for those who still are un familiar to it.
Early in the morning
I put breakfast at your table
And make sure that your coffee
Has its sugar and cream
Your eggs are over easy
Your toast done lightly
All that's missing is your morning kiss
That used to greet me
Now you say the juice is sour
It used to be so sweet
And I can't help but to wonder
If you're talking 'bout me

We don't talk the way we used to talk
It's hurtin' so deep
I've got my pride,
I will not cry
But it's makin' me weak
I'm not your superwoman
I'm not the kind of girl that you can let down
And think that everything's okay
Boy, I am only human
This girl needs more than occasional
Hugs as a token of love from you to me, ooh, baby

I fought my way through the rush hour
Trying to make it home just for you
I want to make sure that your dinner
Will be waiting for you

But when you get there you just tell me
You're not hungry at all
You said you'd rather read the paper
And you don't want to talk

You like to think that I'm just crazy
When I say that you changed
I'm convinced I know the problem
You don't love me the same

You're just going through the motions
And you're not being fairI've got my pride,
I will not cry
Still I can't help but care

I'm not your superwoman (Oh, no, no)
I'm not the kind of girl that you can let down
And think that everything's okay
Boy, I am only human (I'm only human)
This girl needs more than occasional
Hugs as a token of love from you to me

I'm not your superwoman (Hoo, hoo, hoo, ooh, ooh, hoo)
I'm not the kind of girl that you can let down (Hey)
And think that everything's okay (Don't let me down, don't you let me down)
Boy, I am only human (I'm only human, yeah)
This girl needs more than occasional
Hugs as a token (Ooh, ooh) of love from you to me

Oh, baby, look into the corners of your mind
I'll always be there for you through good and bad times
But I can't be that superwoman that you want me to be
I'll give my everlasting love if you'll return love to me
I'm not your superwoman (Oh, no, oh, no)
I'm not the kind of girl that you can let down
And think that everything's okay
Boy, I am only human (I'm only human)
This girl needs more than occasional
Hugs as a token of love from you to me (Oh, no)

If you feel it in your heart
And you understand me
Stop right where you are
Everybody sing along with me
Hoo, hoo, hoo, ooh, ooh, hoo
Hoo, hoo, hoo, ooh, ooh, hoo
I'm the kind of girl that can treat you so sweet
But you got to realize that you got to be sweeter to me, oh, ho, ho
Hoo, hoo, hoo, ooh, ooh, hoo
Hoo, hoo, hoo, ooh, ooh, hooI need love
I need just your love
I'm not your superwoman (Oh, no)
I'm not the kind of girl that you can let down (You can let down)
And think that everything's okayBoy, I am only human (I'm only human)
This girl needs more than occasional (Hey, hey, hey, hey)
Hugs as a token of love from you to me
I'm not your superwoman

Diary: This Weeks Update

I celebrate Christmas twice a year? How and why you ask? Well simple, you know that the actual Christmas Day is the 25th of December? So when do I celebrate the next one. Well I celebrate it when all the TV channels start showing Christmas programmes in September. That’s ok compared when it used to be in June. Don’t u think its weird that the television programming people cant schedule their programmes properly? Just the other day I watched 2 Christmas movies on HBO.

The week has been quite boring, why? Cause I’m quite low on cash so I had to stay at home and watch TV/DVD’s. Besides that I had the urge to make myself drunk but I firmly said no on the grounds I was doing it for the wrong reasons.

As you know Monday was I was busy playing foosball, well on Tuesday It was back too futsal. I didn’t play too much in fear of injury again. The gals from Mindshare were around so I was mucking about with them. Wednesday I attended ESPN and Start Sports convention at Hilton. Astro also jointly advertised it as well. Padma was giving a speech, which was about sponsorship and sports content. I made a lot of potential clients. Through up the whole presentation was wondering if I could apply for a job in ESPN. Did you know Walt Disney own EPSN and Star Sports? Bet you didn’t know that.

Friday was a sad day, that’s the day I broke up with Isma, We had lunch we talked stuff over. After lunch I just wanted to get out of the office immediately but I had to work so I went to Bangsar to meet up with Padma and Halmy. The urge of having something strong was there but I suppressed the feeling. We ended up at Coffee Bean drinking and watching the ladies. I felt empty

Diary: Ramblings of a Broken Heart

There is a Frank Sinatra Song that I relate to this topic. Its called I wish her love. My girlfriend wanted me to marry her, overlooking the fact that she is Malay how could I marry her. What do I have to offer? How do I make a lady happy when i myself am not stable in life?

She went back to her hometown and when she came back she asked me where our relationship was heading too. Well what could I say? I told her the truth it would go as far as it could go. She couldn’t accept that answer. There is a man apparently eager to marry her back to her hometown and her mum is persisting that she considers him. I must say I was taken quite a back with the proposal. Made me step out of my norm box and take a look at my life from a different perspective.

Eiena had a fit when she knew about Isma and me, she said I 'mempermainkan' her. Well did I? To my defence I did explain how the relationship would be and we both agreed that we would just enjoy each other’s company. Deep down I kind of knew that the relationship would head nowhere. Shari had a migraine when I told her about it. So where do I go from here? I’m not too sure back in the day, this would have been a good excuse to get sloshed and drown the problems away. But as you get older you know to well that doesn’t do squat. I feel I need to break out, shout or scream. Or there is another therapy, which I’m thinking about which is a lil girlish, but who the hell cares… What I’m talking about? Shopping.

As in love live I’m not going to say I lost my faith in love and I’ll NEVER love again. That would be ridiculous, as those who know me know I’m made to love somebody. I’m planning to take the dating game into a whole new way. I would like some privacy in the matter as I’m unsure how I’d be doing this yet. But it’ll happen. Best of luck to Isma may she prosper always. God Bless.

Diary: Mourning

The week was bad, as I had to attend 2 funerals to attend. One was my neighbour who passed away because of heart attack. He leaves behind a widow and 3 children. The other wan also a heart attack was a church member He leaves behind a widow and a daughter. Since two of them died of heart attack my mum took the opportunity to drill how I need to take care of myself.

Sunday was Aunt B, Birthday and we celebrated in Klang at this new Chinese restaurant. Food was good too bad the portions were just too small. Andrew, mum & I was still left famished but we didn’t have anything else cause we just weren’t in the mood. I’d like to say I went to bed but I stayed awake I witnessed to much misery for a week so I thought I would treat myself with something uplifting. I watched Charlie and the Chocolate Factory again. I drifted off on the couch for sometime till much later I dragged my feet back to bed. I know its going to be a tiring Monday.

On Monday morning I had a plan, I would endure the tiring meeting Monday leave sharp 6 and by 9 I’d be in my bed. But whenever I plan stuff like this it never works out like you want it too. Padma and Halmy came over for tea as usual on Monday, we had our normal discussion. Lester was the 1st to leave but I stayed back. Padma invited me to his office in Menara Millennium and I agreed. They shared an office with Mindshare and some of the people I knew there like Jo and Fiona. Been long time since I saw them. But what caught my eye was this beautiful Malay girl called Farah. Nice sweet gal whom you know you can have a conversation with. Something I really look for in a girl these days.

Padma’s place had a foosball so we were playing with it for sometime and I must say we had such fun. We played till 10-ish when Padma said he was hungry and we headed to Decanter a restaurant located near Medan Damansara. It was a restaurant secluded in a housing area. It was a very nice quite chill out place. Which I recommend to those who wants to spend time chilling out to talk with friends or that special one. The restaurant has many signature dishes like their homemade pies and homemade cheesecakes. By the time we finished dinner and I headed home it was already midnight. Took a quick bath and I headed to bed as in 5 hours I need to wake up…..

Diary: Futsal

It’s been like 2 weeks since I’ve blog and there is a perfectly good reason why I have not done so… It’s not entirely about work but it is about an injury I picked up while playing futsal. I was playing the keeper and was trying to keep a shot out unfortunately it was a strong one and my arm kind of extended back the wrong way. Now if you asked me was it bad I would deny it cause the pain has gone but for the past 2 weeks the pain head been unbearable. My 2 loyal friends were Deep Heating Cream and the Salonpas. Obviously I had no mood to report anything although I had much to say.

Last Saturday was AKN Mtech’s Futsal Tournament. I joined as organiser and a team-mate. We came up 2nd in the tournament. Proud of my team especially the girls they really were strong and determined to play. Big Ups to Caroline who sustained 2 major injuries while stopping the ball to getting any close to the goal. It was a great futsal competition. I’ll post some of the pictures when I get them.

Are You Ready?

My Astro is out. The decoder just went out dead on Friday night so thee was nothing much to do. I wasn’t in the mood to go out, as I was financially impaired cant wait for the pay to kick in. And there was just so much reading time I could do. So I started cleaning my stuff. Started organising my CD collect and then re-boxing my DVD collection. Also noticed that I was missing some stuff. Those who have my stuff better give my shit back.

Saturday was fine as cleaning took a big part of my time by evening was tired and mum was watching some Tamil VCD. Sunday, I woke up early to head for mass at St Johns’s. It was pouring heavily. Andrew wanted to tag along so we went to mass practically drenched from knee down. Funny thing Priscilla walked past me and I could only smile. She didn’t want to even want to look at me. Sunday was so boring. I couldn’t even catch the F1 on TV. So we had a lil LOTR race. While watching my mind started to wonder. How ready am I for War? I’m so definite that I’d be the very 1st killed if I was asked to go for war.

Which then made me wonder the scenario in Lebanon. How are the people living there? Are you Ready for war?

Beauty Pageant…

I noticed that they have been several beauty pageants and now they will be showing Ms Teen USA beauty pageant. I despise beauty pageants as I strongly believe that they just demoralise the image of a woman. Come on ladies, I believe you guys are much bigger and dignified than that. But have you thought what is the purpose of a Beauty Pageant? I see a bunch of ladies parading around in their evening dress, the swimsuit, etc. We crown them and then we never hear of them ever again.

I’m ok with song and dance competition cause they some what entertain you and at least serenade you with an after effect with an album or a dance programme. What do the woman of the crown do? Answer superficial questions on how they plan to stop the hunger in 3rd world nations. Of all the beauty pageants the only one I really think that doesn’t make sense is Ms Universe. How can you have a competition without any alien life force in the competition? U think I’m silly think about it. You already have Ms World why Ms Universe?

Diary: Week 33

Last week, I was back on the futsal training ground at Taman Megah training for the annual AKN Mtech Futsal Tournament. All the boys and girls from office came. We booked one court for 2 hours and we played in groups of 5, whoever scored 2 goals. I played defence and then goalkeeper, which is my favourite position. Did safe a lot of great goals but I must say I wasn’t that good. After futsal we headed to Ming Tein for drinks, had a big huge apple juice which was just RM3. I must say I slept real well last night but the next day I had pain in my inner thighs. Good god it was so hard to walk or sit.

Saturday something embarrassing happened to me, I woke up and only Dad was at home he was getting ready to go to work, he asked me if he should locked the gate. In my sleepy eyes I said yes. Good God how would that bite me in the ass. I got ready to head to Rizal place when I wanted to leave I noticed that my gate was locked when I searched for my key I couldn’t find it and then I remembered it was in my office drawer. There was no spare key in the house. I was trapped.

I called mum she was far away and couldn’t come back. Andrew was in tuition. So I had to postpone my thing with Rizal. Andrew was my saviour and came in at 12. I headed to Rizals place with Kevin. He has an amazing pad. His room has a recording studio. We did his cupboard; he had a lot of cool thing like his Star War Collectables, his Optimus Prime model and my favourite and his Thundercat Figurines. After doing his cupboard he headed to this nice Chinese restaurant for lunch.

After Rizals place I headed back to office. Everyone was geared up for the opening of EPL. Kevin bought a bucket of KFC for the RnD. Matt was around too to help monitor M1. M1 surprised us by telling that they will be putting our application on the big screen for their road show. So we had to make sure everything was smooth. There were many mistakes made and all of it will be discussed in the long Monday meeting that was for sure.

Merdeka ! Merdeka ! Merdeka !

I’ve lived in Malaysia for 26 years now and I’ve visited 13 out of the 14 states in Malaysia. I have friends of all races and I love their food and culture. Food especially. But what does it mean to be Malaysian. Most of all in this month of August I’ve tried to ask myself what does patriotism mean to me. I see flags everywhere and I await Yasmin’s Petronas advert to feel touched. There must be more to patriotism that this, so I though about my childhood.

When I was young I used to be excited about the parade and watch all the major companies march down along with the army, police. I would wake up early just to watch it now I just sleep in bed and I thank the government for the free holiday. I asked some of my friends what patriotism what it means and most of them say it means nothing. Some said its their to Malaysia. Which made me think what is Malaysia to me. I see Malaysia as a land of opportunity for the hardworking but I still oppression for my people. The people who helped us get liberated are now the people who are now the suppressors of equality and freedom.

Do me a favour ask yourself what patriotism means to you?

PRESS STATEMENT FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Centre for Public Policy Studies (CPPS) Statement

On Government's Stance on Article 11

The Centre for Public Policy Studies (CPPS) would like to express its disappointment with the government's latest position on the forums held by Article 11 on the Federal Constitution. This current stance appears to be based on the mistaken assumption that public discussion on issues related to fundamental liberties will cause tension in our multi-racial and multi-religious society.

The CPPS would like to point out that these forums are not related in any way to the proposal to establish an Inter-Faith Council. Nowhere in the objectives of the coalition of NGOs comprising Article 11 is there any reference made to promoting inter-faith dialogue, much less an IFC - see Article 11's home page on the web which is open to all members of the public to view. At the same time, the actual substance of the Article 11

Forums - focusing on the supremacy of the Federal Constitution and its guarantee of rights for all Malaysians – has been manipulated and distorted by a small group of extremists to imply an attack on the position of Islam in the Constitution. Nothing can be further from the truth.

The three forums held by Article 11 this year have sought civil and rational discussion on crucial issues of fundamental liberties and rights. It is not Article 11 that is intentionally stirring up anger and tension among the masses but rather the small group of intolerant religious extremists that are bent on silencing Article 11, and coercing and intimidating the great majority of right thinking and fair minded Malaysians with their authoritarian tactics.

In a statement by our Prime Minister just two days ago, he said that Islam Hadhari would be able to showcase Islam as a tolerant and caring religion. Amongst the guiding principles of Islam Hadhari are to foster a "free and liberated people" and to ensure "the protection of the rights of minority groups". Putting an end to open dialogue such as that being conducted by Article 11 not only violates the principle of freedom of speech and _expression enshrined in the Federal Constitution but it also directly contradicts the principles and values of Islam Hadhari.

It is important at this point of our country's development for the advocates and protagonists of Islam Hadhari to make a stand on what the values of this new vision stand for: a tolerant, self-confident and progressive religion or one that is being hijacked by intolerant religious hardliners determined to impose their narrow and bigoted agenda, insecurities and interests on Muslims and non-Muslims alike.

The decision to end the Article 11 public forums sets up a negative precedent that will undermine our growing democracy. We also fear that this regressive move will encourage other minority groups of extreme views to pressure the government to alter policies according to their own interests, and bring about a retreat on the upholding of basic liberties. This will send the wrong signal to the public, who has welcomed the government's promise of a liberal and open society. That extremist groups can so easily influence the key socio-political policies and fundamental liberties of the country will not say much about the government's commitment to equally protecting the rights and freedoms of all groups in the country.

The CPPS hopes that the present decision is only a temporary one. We call on the Government to reconsider its decision based on an open, full and fair assessment of what has taken place with regard to the forums conducted by Article 11. This assessment should include not only an analysis of the role of Article 11 but also of the dissidents and troublemakers intent on disrupting and silencing the forums. We strongly support the Government in standing firmly behind the principles of the freedom of speech and assembly as enshrined in the Constitution, to not to give in to intolerant extremist groups, and to protect and not undermine or diminish the right of Article 11 and other similar organizations to exercising their democratic rights and freedoms.

Tan Sri Ramon Navaratnam

Chairman, CPPS 26 July 2006

Article 11

----------

The Federal Constitution and Human Rights Conventions commit the coalition of NGOs known as Article 11 to embracing, upholding and pursuing the realization of the following principles as guaranteed:

1. No citizen shall be discriminated on the basis of religion, race, descent, place of birth or gender

2. Parents (both mother and father) are equal guardians and have equal say in all respects of the upbringing of children

3. Children shall be protected from any form of discrimination on the grounds of religion and in all cases; the interests of children shall be paramount

4. The freedom of thought, conscience and belief for all persons shall be fully respected, guaranteed and protected

5. Every citizen has a responsibility to condemn discrimination and intolerance based on religion or belief

6. Every citizen has a responsibility to apply religion or belief in support of human dignity and peace.

Article 11 is fully committed to upholding those fundamental rights for all Malaysians regardless of religion, race, descent, place of birth or gender.

---------------------------------------------

26 July 2006

A press statement by Article 11, a coalition of Malaysian NGOs committed to upholding the fundamental rights of all Malaysians regardless of religion, race, descent, place of birth or gender.

*Article 11* is very concerned that the Prime Minister's statement reported in today's press, calling for a halt to *Article 11*'s public forums, is based on the widespread but mistaken belief that the coalition's activities are aimed at reviving the initiative to establish an Inter-Faith Commission (IFC).

*Article 11* would like to take this opportunity to clarify that the forums, entitled "Federal Constitution: Protection for All", are in no way related with the IFC initiative.

Rather, *Article 11*'s forums focus on the rights that the Federal Constitution, as the supreme law of Malaysia, guarantees to each citizen. The forums are also intended to highlight the concerns of civil society resulting from the plight of various individuals who are unable to obtain legal redress and who therefore suffer as a result of the current jurisdictional uncertainty in the courts. There is no discussion about the IFC in *Article 11*'s public forums or other activities.

*Article 11 *will seek a meeting with the Prime Minister to request further information about his concerns regarding the coalition's activities and to provide clarification on the misconception that links *Article 11* with the IFC.

*Article 11* takes note of the concerns of the Prime Minister. The coalition members will meet soon, and will carefully consider his advice in its discussions of its future plans.

CSI: New York

Anybody caught CSI: New York yesterday night. Great in it. Anybody wants to know why Stella Bonasera had that disgusted look on her face at the end of the episode. Click the link below. You’ll be surprised.

I was also touchged by the brotherly love... I miss my brother

http://www.cbs.com/primetime/csi_ny/aresanob/

Bon Voyage my Brother

My brother has finally left to what I do hope to make us proud to become what he always wanted to be a doctor. We left him at the airport yesterday at 6.15am. With heavy heart we saw him walk through those boarding gate to his future. But a string of coincidences happen which I thought was a blessing in disguise. It happened on Saturday, we were to meet Kelvin at Sg Wang for a farewell dinner. I, Alex and Andrew were headed to the train station when we meet Peggy Mama. I’ve not seen the lady for a year now she appears. She wished my brother the best of luck. Something I do hold quite dear to me.

We had a fun time in Sg Wang. We had lunch at Dome courtesy of Kelvin. Alex and Andrew had the Dome Beef burger, Kelvin had a Cajun chicken sandwich and I had my usual Roast beef sandwich. I love that dish. And for desert all of us had the brownie sundae…. Heaven.

After lunch we headed down to the DVD guy’s place but we were shocked to find that his shop has turned into a ladies boutique. The man was there and he told me that due to a new ruling where shops cannot sell DVD anymore so we were taken to the back of his shop which I felt quite dodgy and funny at the time. We placed our order and he told us to come back in about 20 minutes. So we headed down to Parkson to get Alex a new wallet. After browsing around we got one of those sets that came with a belt. We did some mischief as we exchanged on of the heads from another box. We then later headed back to the DVD guy got our stock and went to Lot 10 to do a lil window-shopping. Then we browsed through the Bintang Walk, KL Plaza and of course Starhill. By the time we were all done it was almost 4 pm.

We said our goodbye and we headed home. When we reached our sentul station we met Peggy Mama again, Alex made lil detour to his friends house to stock up some songs in his new MP3 player, which was Alex Birthday and Christmas gift from Kelvin. It was mass the next day where mass was celebrated by a French priest called Peter Pedro. He apparently was a resident of my parish. What was amazing he came by to the house that night gave Alex a travellers blessing.

Diary: Till 5 in the Morning

I was surprised to get a call from Mel inviting me to Poppy on Saturday. I called Yoges to see if he was in town but he was busy handling the Singapore National Day celebration. Apparently they have an Apache helicopters dancing to some song. Cool init. Nothing compared to Malaysian National day. Which seems to be lamer by every day.

I was at Poppy at 12-ish only to find that it was on of Mel’s friend’s party. No one cared to introduce me to anyone. That’s one of the reason I hate to go for these party you know no one, they all are Chinese and they see and Indian and ask themselves what is the ‘keling’ doing here. I was just like a fool sitting at the corner. Mel was a lil edgy that night. He was quite emotional. I wonder why? Mel kept telling everyone he rolled wit a bouncer and I was it. I felt used. I honestly wanted to leave but it’s been long time I’ve seen them and I was quite worried to leave him just like that.

Nick was there as well. He looked much happier. The brother is single again. So ladies its time to be promiscuous with Nick… hehehehe

The party ended at 4 which after poppy we headed to this shop called “Fei Por’ for Chicken rice. Amazing chicken rice and it came along with homemade fish ball soup. So tender meat accompanied with flavourful rice. Hmmm… very nice. Must make it a point to go there again. By the time all of this was done it was 5am. A quick bath I took my well-deserved nap.
Sunday morning I woke up at 10, got up to pay my bills and I needed to buy lunch. Feeding myself guilt that I’ve had too much red meat I headed to McD’s for some ol’ fashion fish o fillet. I noticed that the fillet now seem to be getting thinner. Headed home for some chores and my compulsory Sunday nap. That was my weekend.

Pussy Cat Dolls

I got a call from my COO that he had an extra ticket to see Pussycat Dolls in Sunway Lagoon. They weren’t ordinary tickets they were VIP tickets. Oh… I already could see myself next to Nicole or Melody as she serenades me with ‘Stickwitu’…. Licking back to reality. The tickets were passed to me via a blank envelope from Reshmonu’s people. Yes Reshmonu and me are close after the World Cup Party.

I was picked up from the office and we headed to Sunway. Surprisingly there were allot of kids in the concert. Young kids, I felt old being there. Most of them were in their skimpy beachwear. What amazed me was they could afford the tickets. Children these days are spoiled. Ticket prize was RM200 and 100, when I was at their age I don’t think I was allowed to attend such thing nor do I think I could afford the ticket. At that very moment I knew how Datuk Khalid feels

I came to the concert as 2 people, one as a music critic and another as a pervert. I’d be lying to you if I didn’t mention the other. The concert began with 2 Hitz fm dj trying to warm up the crowd. Knowing that there were kids in the crowd the has some really sexy games which I really deemed lewd for kids. Reshmonu opened up for the show with 2-brand songs form his new album, which should come out in November.

The show began with their latest hit Buttons. The girls could shake what God gave them I swear Nicole winked at me when she began her show. The show had it all dancing, sexy-ness and pyro. The re was no lip sync-ing done it was all 100% them. I cant elaborate more; you just had to be there to experience the lustrous Pussycat Dolls. After the concert I finally saw them as a gifted musician but not just another spice girls wannabe. Please note I’ve got Pictures of the show but I’ve got videos…..

Diary: 2 Movies and a Love Seat

This weekend most of my plans were postponed. I finally went and saw Pirate of the Caribbean’s 2. The content team had a organised a dinner and a movie last Wednesday. We had dinner at San Francisco Steak House at Damansara Intan. It was my first time at this establishment. I was expecting a fine dining experience but in return what I got what was a nice place where there were murals on the walls. It was pictures of San Francisco culture. The ambience was quite pristine with waiters eager to serve you hand and foot. The foot was exquisite; I had a dish called the cowboy steak, which was steak with baked beans, sausages (Mini cocktail) and a fried egg. Others has salmon steak, chicken with mushroom sauce. The dishes were very nice.

After dinner we headed to 1 Utama’s new wing. We had so much time to spare so we played some foosball with the girls. The movie was all I expected it to be. Swash-buckling to the very end. Oh Captain Jack Sparrow how I envy your miss-adventures. A must watch in my book.

The weekend saw me heading to a new place called The Curve at Damansara. The place is fairly new with not allot of shops open yet the atmosphere of the place was quite lively. The main attraction of the place would definitely be the place called ‘The Street” where it has lots of restaurants and small shops selling varieties of stuff from mugs to tashmina’s and I must say it was quite a reasonable price. I headed down to the next building where the new Cathay cinema was located. The whole building is empty except for the cinema space it has 10 screens for your viewing pleasure. The place hints ‘just for couple’ as when u hit to the concession stand there are lovers combo and such. In the cinema itself most of the seats are love seats for couple I believe to have their ‘space’

I watched the Lake House with a lady friend that day. I must say the movie is for the mature at mind. The Reeves Bullock combination was amazing… you felt the effect of the chemistry pass through the fabric of the cinema. I wont give much away but I must say a must watch in my books. You will definitely find a copy of it in my DVD collection.

Sunday I attended mass at St John’s I slept through mass as Father Amalanathan was speaking to himself. There was an incident where someone I knew tried to sneak pass me in church unnoticed. Shame on you. After mass I headed home and I had to start with my ironing early as in the evening I was to be at My Aunts place in Cheras for a family potluck. Oh how much I despise those people. But it was nice that I got to meet up Priya. It’s been awhile since I meet up with her and we caught up with good times.

Diary: Weekends Happening

The week was filled with fun and laughter... great right. I was supposed to meet ‘someone’ to watch Pirates of the Caribbean but I chickened out. But I got this surprising SMS from Shari asking me if I was free or not. Straight away I only could think of 2 scenarios she was calling me out 1. Cause she was in trouble; 2. She just needs the company. Both ways I was down to help her. We met at 2.30pm at Midvalley. It was so nice to see her. She looks much more hot now. We had lunch at Chillies where she bought (Finally…). We exchanged stories and we laughed our heads off. Its been a long time since I had this much of fun.

After Chillies I decided to head to MPH to get a new name cardholder as my previous one is all filled up. Along the way we noticed MNG was having a 70% sale. What hip and modern women would pass up a MNG sale? I haven’t met one yet anyway. My plan was to seduce Shari to get something from MNG but we both decided to play the same game. She seduced me to get some stuff from Zara. Zara had a further mark down sale, which was too hard to pass up. Shari got 2 sexy outfits to complement her from two of this outlets and I got 2 sweaters for myself from Zara. I enjoyed being the evil demon seducing Shari to spend all her money… hahahaha

Sunday saw the gathering of the Patrick’s at Mama’s place. It was a potluck session and everyone brought a dish. Mum made nasi briyani and pork curry. Aunt Bella made her famous prawn sambal; Annie tried my mum’s recipe of daging paprika, which was quite good, Uncle Tony did the chicken curry and some yong tau fu. But the highlight of the potluck was Auntie Pats mee-hoon goring. When we were young (nephew and nieces), Auntie Pat used to make the dish for breakfast. It was our favourite dish of all time. Now she hardly makes it. The party was to celebrate Alex farewell and Mitchelle birthday. We had a cake for tea.

Lil mike was there, apparently he fell again and his mouth had a deep cut. He came around showing his blister and trying to get as much attention he could get. He played with Jonathan till Uncle Tony left then kept showing his puppy dogface saying nobody wants to play with him. So I sat next to him and played with his building blocks. He was such a good boy. We made blocks of a goal post and we tried to shoot block through it. It was fun…

Animator Vs Animation

Guys,

You got to check out this stick man flash

Diary: VIP Seats and a Tokyo Drift

Saturday: It was training week and the 3rd and 4th placing for the World Cup. Was so happy its coming to an end. The training was about creative thinking. How to think outside the box… bla, bla, bla. Food was good at the Armada Hotel. I do recommend those who wants to try it. They had a very nice nasi lemak set.

I attended the Asian Telecoms official launch. It was not the street party as what they told their guest months earlier. It was held in Modesto’s at Jalan P. Ramlee. I must say they brought out a bad impression at the start of their launch. The initially began bragging that it would be a street party then a week or so before the date they change it to Espanda and then later 2 days before the event they change it again to Modesto. Although Asian Telecoms are one of my servicing clients and some of them do read my blog I still stand at my statement that they only managed to give a bad 1st company impression.

I attended the party with my colleagues and one of them Joyce being my date for the evening. I was in the VIP area so all was paid for they had these models with jerseys around entertaining the guest. I got up close and personal with Ms Portugal. She was just 19, still young though. They had those he-she acts. They were dancing to Pussy Cat Dolls - Buttons and the Shakira song, Hips don’t lie. I was waiting for ‘Its Raining Men’ but that they didn’t play that. Over all it was a good party. Surprisingly I met a couple of MBSS seniors and an old friend of mine Matthew Mathan. He’s back from Middle East and just started with Astro and plans to start his own construction service. Biggie ups to him.

Sunday: More training but the activities were fun kept us in stitches as we really went wild with the activity. For example, a case study we were to stuck in half way trough a mountain top and 2 of your climbers are injured its up to you to go down hill to get help. You need to bring 14/37 items from your backpack for a swift get down. Oh yeah there is a storm head and there is a possibility of a stay over. We chose our items and we concluded that the guy was honoured by the Alaskan official for his bravery and declared 29th February as a public holiday. A movie was made of the hero and survivor’s fate thus giving them instant fame like Mawi

At night was the Hotlink Germany Finale Carnivale at Bukit Bintang. There was at least 60,000 people at the event. The event was organised very well. There were so many things to do. Magicians for the kid, some football wave thing, face painting, etc. Only at the carnivale I realised that PCD will be in Sunway, got to get Maxis to get me some tickets. I was seated in the VIP area where most of the artists were hanging out. Maxis out did themselves. They had this big tent with sofas and huge LCD screen TV’s everywhere. They had waiters walking around serving drinks and food from Regent hotel. I hanged out with Reshmonu, Disagree, Reefa, Sasi the Don and of course Flipsyde. They are all cool people very friendly especially Reshmonu. I watched the 1st half of the match and then I headed home

Monday: Was on leave, headed to Midvalley to meet Marcia for lunch and also to get my stock of contact lenses. Had a great bargain 6 months worth of contact lenses with a free sample of contact lenses and a free multi purpose solution for just RM150. Since I was already in Midvalley it was just common sense to catch a movie. I caught Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift. All I’ll say is very nice.

The Lina Joy Case: Right not infringed on

http://www.thestar.com.my/news/story.asp?file=/2006/7/4/nation/14732476&sec=nation

One does wonder what value does the Malaysian Constitutional rights have. The way I see all of this the government sees the non-muslim as a minority. Not that important, I hear them screaming from the newspaper if you don’t like it leave… I blame my fore fathers for this, when the government was created back then no one spoke out. I’m not sure if the ‘minorities’ knew what were the effects be or we they just clouded.

Diary: Week 25

I’ve been having a laid back week, nothing much to do besides negotiating new agreements with clients. I like haggling I’ve been brought up to haggle ever since I was young mum used to drag me around to her ‘shopping’ and one thing I noticed about my mum she was a very good haggler. She would be able to drop an items price by at least 60% off its original price. She was that good. So unintentionally it has kind of rubbed of on me. And recently I was in a seminar on how to negotiate with clients, the corporate way that is.

There are two other projects that I’m handling one being football (EPL, ISA, SPL, etc) and another is a personal favourite. I’m helping out with a colleague of mine to set up Singapore’s Cartoon Networks WAP Portal. I get to

The weekend I, Alex and Andrew hanged out at 1 Utama. We wanted to celebrate Alex farewell and Andrews’s educational achievement. We went to watch Cars. Yes I’m lil back dated in the movie area. As the world watches Superman Return from wherever he was I was watching Cars. I must say it was kind of a cool movie. Not as good as Nemo or the Incredibles. It was a male movie or if you like cars, A very simple story line, amazing graphics and the comedy to me was lil adult I doubt kids could understand ‘em in short it was like watching a race + pimp my ride.

After the movie we played some pool at the bowling arena. We had so much fun we lost track of time. After pool we headed to Chillis for dinner. The boys ordered whatever they wanted and we only headed back home after 11. We tried to get a cab but all we got was a bus. So we rode it all the way home…. Damm I need a car.

Oh yeah I forgot we took a cab to 1 Utama. The cab driver was listening to Light and Easy and it was playing a Tony Bennett song. I was singing along to the song till the cab driver asked if we were from overseas, then he asked my qualification and I lied to him saying I had a degree. The taxi driver later asked how my English was. Which then led me to composing the taxi driver’s daughters wedding speech. So along the way to the taxi ride I compose this mans speech and I hope he is happy with it. He asked for my mobile but I gave him a fake one. Last thing I need is someone calling me and asking for changes or adjustments.

Marina gave me the best gift I could ever asked for. It’s a lil lame but I really like it. She gave me postcards of Siti Nurhaliza. Yeah I already can hear u cursing me right now. She does have the prettiest smile. I find myself loosing myself in her eyes and all my worries fly away when I see her smile. So now I have her pasted all over my cubicle. And I smile often now…. Lame init

Pastoral letter issued by the
Catholic Bishop’s Conference of Malaysia
On The Legal Implications of Conversion to Islam

Dear Sisters and Brothers in the Lord,
If you convert to Islam, there are the important changes in your legal status and what you can or cannot do. Your conversion to Islam will be registered with the Religious Department and the National Registration Department, both of which are computerised so access to this information is available throughout the country

Under Syariah enactments of most of the 12 States of Malaysia:

1. Conversion back to your former religion is either (a) not allowed under the law or (b) a criminal offence which means that you may be fines, whipped, detained or imprisoned under most State Islamic laws
If you are under 18 years of age, you require your parent’s permission to convert to Islam

2. Your identity card will record your conversion to Islam. Therefore, even if you are no longer a practising Islam, you may be fined, whipped, detained or imprisoned for violation of Syarifah laws such as praying in Church, eating in public during fasting month, “khalwat” etc

3. You cannot marry a non-Muslim. If you decide to divorce and attempt to convert out of Islam, you will lose custody of your children because they are Muslims.

4. Upon death, your non-Muslim relatives will lose the rights to any property, money etc that you want to leave them. The corpse of a convert to Islam will be taken away from his or her non-Muslim family for Islamic rites and burial even if you have not bee a practising Muslim for many years

5. In the event that your spouse converts to Islam, you may have no right to either your children or your spouse’s property

We know that certain Christians who convert to Islam for whatever reasons, are not aware of or do not consider seriously the implications of such conversions. Hence, the need to inform you

By this we are neither against Islam nor freedom of religion, which is guaranteed for all Malaysians in Article 11 of our Constitution, which gives the right to an individual to choose freely his or her religion. But to choose correctly, you need to know clearly what you choose and the consequences of your choice.

Confused

Last weekend I sent an SMS to all my friends. It was one of those Spam SMS’es. It read ‘If you could change our current relationship with me what would you change too…’ Most of you all didn’t bother to reply, neither was I waiting for one. But I received 2 replies. One wanted me to be her brother if she could but one shocked me… One wanted me to be her boyfriend.

Why it shocked me? Cause she is getting married this October. It could be cold feet I hope it is. I told myself I’d never be the reason for a break-up. I must say this… she is the definition of Lionel Ritchie’s song, Hello, where it goes

I've been alone with you inside my mind
And in my dreams I've kissed your lips a thousand times

With that kind of statement needless for me to say that I was crazy for her but I did nothing cause she was going strong for 7 years with her boyfriend. I replied her message back and she said I was the one that got away. What you mean got away. I never left. This always happen when you are attached. She’s not picking my calls up… And I’m confused. Should I pretend like it never happen?

Have An Open Mind

ANOTHER SHOCKING PIECE OF ALTERNATIVE JOURNALISM . NOTE CAVEAT GIVEN. Folks,This piece was published last Thursday, a good 6 days before Dr M'soutburst against Pak Lah.

Does Raja Petra know something we don't or is he in cahorts with the Dr M camp? It's most interesting how he explains the low, straight bridge is not desired by DrM but rather a high, crooked bridge. Think about his theory.

Quote Thursday, June 01, 2006Not worth the paper it is written on Raja Petra Kamarudin
They say in legal circles that a verbal agreement is not worth the paper it is written on. Islam says, if a man breaks his word up to three times, then do not take him as a friend or comrade. Islamic scholar or ulamak Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, also currently Prime Minister of Malaysia, gave his word and he broke it more than three times. Abdullah, therefore, cannot be taken as a friend either in the western or Islamic perspective. And who did Abdullah give his word to? He gave it to previous Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad -- and of course to all Malaysians in his 2004 Election Manifesto, which he has also broken. And what did he promise Dr Mahathir?

Many things, amongst which are that the Scenic or 'Crooked' Bridge would not be abandoned, the double tracking railway line would be pursued, and the national car, Proton, would be supported -- just to mention but three. After Dr Mahathir announced his resignation to a shocked Umno General Assembly in mid-2002, Abdullah and Dr Mahathir spent 15 months in countless conferences to discuss what the former should and would do when he finally takes over as Prime Minister in November 2003. Dr Mahathir went into great detail and explained at length why he did what he did in his 22 years as Malaysia's Prime Minister. Dr Mahathir had a reason for his many perceived lunatic moves. Even Abdullah, who was his deputy soon after Anwar Ibrahim's exit in September 1998,could not understand everything that Dr Mahathir did. Now he does. Abdullah sat there taking pages after pages of notes as Dr Mahathir gave him a 15-month crash course in Mahanomics (synonymous with Reaganomics). By the end of the 15-month training and orientation programme, Abdullah understood fully what was in the head of that strange animal called Mahathir. More importantly, Abdullah now saw the logic in Dr Mahathir's every move and agreed that, though sometimes somewhat devious, many of these moves were actually quite necessary in the pursuit of the bigger objective.

Many of Dr Mahathir's moves would certainly appear loony to the uninitiated. They would appear even stranger when viewed in the backdrop of what was perceived as a failed plan. Dr Mahathir was a blunderer and the many disasters he left as a legacy to Abdullah in November 2003 laid testimony to this. But Abdullah knew they were no disasters. He did not know earlier of course. But 15 months of sitting in front of Dr Mahathir and taking notes as the Prime Minister imparted his innermost thoughts left Abdullah with no doubts that thisold man knew what he was up to and these moves could only be labelled as brilliant. Take the Scenic or 'Crooked' Bridge as one example. No one would disagree if we were to say that this is the most stupid idea yet to come out of Dr Mahathir's mind. Why build half a bridge? Why build such a silly looking bridge that would wind its way around because it had to join the Causeway halfway across the Straits of Johor or Tebrau Straits?

If they built a full bridge, then the bridge could be built straight, lower and shorter at maybe almost the same cost as half a bridge. But now they are building half a bridge, so it has to be crooked and higher -- and the cost for half a bridge is not half the cost of a full, straight bridge. But they can't build a straight or full bridge because Singapore will not allow their half of the Causeway to be demolished and they are not interested in building the other half of the bridge on their side or within their territorial waters. Singapore could of course agree to join Malaysia in this bridge project and agree to the Causeway being demolished and a full, straight bridge be built to replace the Causeway.

But Singapore wanted the bridge to be packaged with a lot of other goodies, all in Singapore's favour. These goodies would be like throwing in the supply of sand, allowing Singapore Air Force planes more flights over Malaysian air space, plus a re-look at the water agreement. Dr Mahathir did not agree to this. He would not package the bridge with all these other issues and he wanted each issue to be an issue by itself and to be negotiated separately and on its own merits. Dr Mahathir was no fool. He knew if he rejected Singapore's demand for a packaged deal, then Singapore would not agree to the bridge. Malaysia could go on with the bridge if it wanted, but it can only build a bridge on Malaysia's side, not on Singapore's side.

Therefore it would have to be a silly-looking half-bridge that would need to be highly elevated and winding. That was exactly what Dr Mahathir wanted. He wanted Singapore to reject the full, straight bridge idea and stipulate that Malaysia can only build half a bridge if it still insisted on proceeding with the plan. Dr Mahathir did not want a full bridge. He wanted a half-bridge. A full bridge would mean it would have to be straight and therefore low. A half-bridge would force the bridge to curve and therefore it would have to be built highly elevated. What Dr Mahathir really wanted is the space beneath the bridge which a full bridge would not offer while a half-bridge would. And why did he want this space? He wanted it because he wanted large container ships and oil tankers to be able to sail under the bridge.

The Straits of Melaka is one of the busiest sea lanes in the world. But ships plying the Straits cannot reach Johor Port unless they sail around Singapore. So they would rather stop at the Port of Singapore instead of coming to Johor. Even ships carrying goods bound for Malaysia would rather stop at Singapore for transhipment to Malaysia rather than sail to Malaysia. Once there is a highly elevated bridge, then the ships can bypass Singapore and come straight to Malaysia. In short, a highly elevated 'crooked' bridge would boost the viability of Johor Port and pose a serious threat to the Port of Singapore. To be more dramatic, the bridge could actually kill the Port of Singapore and make Johor Port the new centre for imports to and exports from Malaysia -- plus for those Indonesian importers and exporters as well who currently would rather use Singapore than sail the extra distance around Singapore to come to Johor. That was what Dr Mahathir really wanted. He was not actually interested in the bridge. He was more interested in Malaysia overtaking Singapore in the port business. And the crooked, high, half-bridge would be able to achieve this. A straight, low, full bridge would not.

Dr Mahathir very cleverly manoeuvred so that Singapore would disagree with the full bridge and would instead ask Malaysia to proceed with half a bridge. Once they said that, Dr Mahathir got them exactly where he wanted them. The half-bridge is Singapore's idea, not Dr Mahathir's, so Singapore cannot now turn around and say that they had been tricked and the bridge was merely a Red Herring and that the real motive was to outdo the Port of Singapore. Somehow, along the way, Malaysia's Foreign Minister packaged the supply of sand and more SAF flights over Malaysian air space in the bridge deal. Dr Mahathir never agreed to this. But Abdullah did for reasons known only to himself and his son-in-law, Khairy Jamaluddin. The sand would of course come from Johor and those individuals who will be awarded the contract to supply sand to Singapore are family members of those involved in the decision-making process at the very top echelons of power -- those walking in the corridors of power. The supply of sand is not a government effort but a private arrangement.

What is even more perturbing to Dr Mahathir is that Singapore did not demand that the supply of sand be included in the deal. This idea came from Malaysia. It was Malaysia that proposed it, not Singapore that demanded it. When the Johor Menteri Besar found out about the supply of sand arrangement he was outraged. Dr Mahathir had banned the export of sand back in 1997 and Johor was quite happy with this as the sand was coming from Johor and it is the politicians and their cronies who are making hundreds of millions out of it. For the first time in his life this very polished man who always has a sweet smile for anyone he encounters lost his cool. He never raises his voice, especially to the Prime Minister. But that day he did and he told the Prime Minister that Umno Johor will strongly oppose any Johor sand being sold to Singapore. Even the palace got into the act and there was a danger of another Constitutional Crisis erupting. In short, there was a mutiny and Johor was in revolt. A crisis never before seen in Malaysian history was about to explode. This was a state-federal conflict in the making.

Abdullah had blundered big time. He had agreed that the bridge would include the supply of sand to Singapore. Now Johor, the source of the sand, put its foot down and threatened to resist at whatever cost, and Johor can be as independent as Kelantan if it so wishes. They would also reveal the names of all those who stand to benefit from this supply of sand; family members of those at the very top of the Abdullah administration. If you think the Mahathir-Anwar crisis was exciting, the supply of sand to Singapore would dwarf this by far.

Two days later, Abdullah announced that the bridge project would be aborted, after starting work on it (and incurring a liability of RM100 million). Three weeks before that, Parliament had reiterated the bridge project would go on and the Minister of Works himself assured Parliament that this would be so. But now it was off. They would not be proceeding with the bridge. They could not proceed with it. To proceed with it would mean they have to supply sand to Singapore. And this would create a massive crisis between the federal government and the Johor state government. The only way out of the supply of sand commitment would be to abort the bridge project. No bridge, no sand, and no federal government-Johor state government crisis, plain and simple. But it is out of the frying pan, into the fire.

Without the bridge, there would be no way ships could sail to Johor Port through the Straits and the Port of ingapore would continue to dominate this region. Dr Mahathir's plan to build up Johor Port and challenge Singapore's dominance was thwarted. And it was thwarted by no other than his successor who had promised him that the bridge would go on. And it was thwarted because some greedy people in the decision-making team had tried to get rich quick through selling sand to Singapore by packaging the sand supply deal in the bridge proposal. Dr Mahathir was hopping mad. Abdullah had made a big booboo, and to get out of this booboo he cancelled the bridge project. Abdullah was trying to save his arse. But in doing so he sacrificed Malaysia. Johor Port would now have to remain as pathetic as it has always been. And the Port of Singapore would remain the big wheel of this region. Flushed down the toilet is Dr Mahathir's plan for overtaking Singapore. And, to make it worse, Abdullah had promised Dr Mahathir the bridge would go on.

And he understood fully well why it must. And he realised that the bridge was for the good of Malaysia's commerce. But saving his arse was his first priority. Saving Johor Port has tocome second. That is the story of the 'Crooked' Bridge. There are many other stories such as about the double tracking railway line, the national car, and more. Suffice to say, the double tracking railway line had the same objective as the 'Crooked' Bridge; in that Malaysia's commerce would improve and Singapore's dominance in the region would be given a serious challenge. But Abdullah aborted this as well. The double tracking railway line was actually the first move. Once the double tracking was done, then the high speed train was supposed to follow.

Imagine the day when one could live in a cheaper town like Ipoh where property prices are half those in the big city, yet work in Kuala Lumpur -- and the time it takes to get to work from Ipoh would be faster than driving from Subang Jaya to Kuala Lumpur today. The small towns would boom and development would be spread out throughout the country instead of concentrated in a few key areas like it is today. But that too now remains just a dream. The MV Agusta matter is another issue. Dr Mahathir was going to use MV Agusta to develop a peoples' car (volks wagen) that could be marketed for as low as RM10,000, or less. MV Agusta had the technology to do this and the cost to buy MV Agusta, in spite of it debts, was still lower than embarking on this project doing your own R&D from scratch. R&D costs billions of Ringgit and to develop a car from scratch would not only cost more but would be time consuming as well. Even if you are prepared to pay the higher cost, the time would take too long.

MV Agusta was a short cut and at a cheaper price on top of that. But MV Agusta was sold off for RM4 and Dr Mahathir's RM10,000 peoples' car went down the toilet, just like all the others. In fact, the sale of MV Agusta itself raises other questions. How did they decide who to sell it to and do those in the decision-making process have an interest in the company that bought MV Agusta? (Which raises the issue of conflict of interest.) Dr Mahathir knows the real story, as he does about who those sand suppliers are, but he is not revealing all, at least not just yet.

It is not that Abdullah is ignorant about all this. He knows the agenda behind the 'Crooked' Bridge, double tracking railway line, MV Agusta, and much more. He knows that all these are mere catalysts for bigger things. And he agreed that these are necessary for the future of the country. Yet he dismantled them one by one just to make it appear like Dr Mahathir is stupid and that all his ideas are stupid. It is all about politics and of trying to undermine Dr Mahathir. And what better way to do this than to dismantle what Dr Mahathir started and give the impression that the previous Prime Minister was a nut case. So the country suffers. So what? That is the small picture. The big picture is: Dr Mahathir is embarrassed.

The Free Trade Agreement (FTA) is another thing that Dr Mahathir was and still is against. All those years he was prime minister he resisted the FTA. Then, late last year, Abdullah secretly signed the FTA with Japan whereby Japanese automobiles would have free access to the Malaysian market while Malaysian vegetables would have free access to the Japanese market. Malaysian vegetables? What vegetables do we have that we can export to Japan? We do not even grow enough for our own consumption and almost everything we eat needs to be supplemented with imports. Anyway, do the Japanese eat our vegetables? Abdullahmight as well have signed an FTA with Canada whereby we export ice cubes to the Eskimos.

The FTA Abdullah signed with Japan was so confidential that even the Cabinet did not know about it until Abdullah informed its members later, after it had been signed. The Cabinet members were shocked, but by then it was too late to do anything about it. And how is Proton going to survive once Japanese cars get free access to the Malaysian market when even Europe and the United States can't compete with them? Proton is a dead man walking. Its days are numbered and it will be just a matter of time when the national car folds. As the Malays would say: siap kain kapan (prepare the funeral shroud). Now the United States also wants the FTA with Malaysia signed and the US-Malaysia FTA would open all government contracts and procurement to US companies. That is the end of the New Economic Policy.

The days of the Bumiputera businessmen are numbered. Malays will have to revert to becoming clerks and drivers again. Dr Mahathir is beginning to doubt whether Abdullah knows what he is doing. As far as Dr Mahathir is concerned, whatever he did, he did with the interest of the nation at heart. But Abdullah's moves, the way Dr Mahathir sees it, are moves of a traitor who does not care about the country's interest. Dr Mahathir is quite prepared to allow Abdullah to run this country the way he, as Prime Minister, sees fit. But Dr Mahathir will not remain silent and allow this state of affairs to continue if, as he put it, Malaysia's sovereignty is jeopardised.Dr Mahathir would rather take on Abdullah than allow the man to destroy this country. Not just Dr Mahathir, but many Umno veterans as well believe that power in the hands of Abdullah is like giving a flower to a monkey. Monkeys do not appreciate the beauty of flowers.

Again, my caution that this is highly speculative alternative journalism. Forward with this caveat. For the "thinking majority" only.
